With Northern Rising over a month away on Saturday, October 3rd, MLP still doesn’t have a main event but I am guessing all will become clear after this week’s show from the SportsPlex at St. Clair College in Windsor, Ontario.
Jay Lethal versus Psycho Mike
It is great to see Jay Lethal in action. Another amazing talent that AEW has just wasted. Blake Christian and Lee Johnson head to the back. Lethal mocks Mike right out of the gate by catching himself after being thrown into the ropes and strutting.
“Let’s see what you’ve got, Psycho,” says Lethal.
A shoulder block knocks Lethal to the mat. On the floor, Lethal tries to slam Mike’s head into the apron. Mike blocks punching Lethal in the stomach. Mike smashing Lethal’s head off the apron ten or so times. Lethal escapes a slam sending Mike into a steel post. Back in the ring, Lethal misses his Macho Man flying elbow smash. Letha super kicks Mike but missed the Lethal Injection.
Mike slams Lethal to the canvass but Johnson and Christian come out to distract Mike. Lethal gets slammed again. As the official is distracted, Lethal hits Mike with a double chop to the throat. Zach Gowen and Billy Gunn (whom Ranaldo calls “Bart”) come down to fight off The Lethal Twist. Gunn gets shoved into the official. Lethal backs in Mike. Mike slams him but you can count to a hundred. The official is out. Mike goes to the floor to drag him back in.
Out of nowhere, Steve Maclin attacks Mike from behind. Man, Mike better get some friends and get some friends fast.

Holy s–t! Holy s–t!
“Holy s–t! is right,” says Mauro.
Lethal pins Mike.
Winner: Jay Lethal
“I have no one controlling me. I have no orders. I am a free man. Mr. Mayhem himself is in Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling. It is mayhem for all,” says Maclin to the cameras.
We get a creepy PCO hype video.
We are also presented with this notice, announcement…

For those who don’t know, Kelly used to be Gigi Dolin.
Adam Copeland chats with us again. He says when he started in the business he had to work hard to find a place to hone his skills. That is why MLP is a great thing for Canadian wrestling. This is what Canadian wrestling is all about though. Veteran talent pulling rookies up and rookies doing the same when they achieve that status. Copeland explains how proud he is of being Canadian and also growing up in Toronto (really, Orangeville). “I remember when THEY tried to get me to say I am from Tampa. No, I am from Toronto.”

Chris Chambers versus PCO
Just as it was fantastic to see Lethal back in action, PCO is a personal fave since I am a massive horror movie fan so you can guess which corner I am in for this one.
Chambers backs off immediately. He is intimidated by PCO.
PCO! PCO!
Chambers leaps onto PCO’s back for a sleeper hold. PCO just slams him down to the mat. Chambers tries it again. PCO just slams him backwards into a corner to break the hold. Chambers leaps on PCO’s back for a third time. PCO slams him backwards again.
Chambers sucks! Chambers sucks!
PCO clotheslines Chambers over the top rope. PCO leaps onto Chambers on the floor. Back in the ring, Chambers blocks a chokeslam by raking PCO’s eyes. He runs off the ropes…just to be chokeslammed. PCO hits his PCO moonsault for the win. Was there any doubt?
Winner: PCO.
Taylor Rising tries to low-blow PCO after the match. PCO backs her up into a corner threatening to chokeslam her. Chambers hits him with the ring bell in the back of the head. PCO sits up. Chambers and Rising hit the bricks.
A segment in which Dani Luna and MLP Canadian Women’s Champion Gisele Shaw go back and forth chewing each other other before…
Dani Luna versus Gisele Shaw (c) – MLP Canadian Women’s Championship Match
Shaw just slaps Luna in the face after backing her into a corner. A shoulder tackle from Luna sends Shaw into a corner. Luna clotheslines Shaw and suplexes her. Shaw slaps Luna in the face again. Shaw chops Luna all around the ring. A shoulder block, slam and sliding clothesline sends Shaw to the floor.
Back in the ring, Shaw pummels Luna with fists and knees to the throat and body. Luna powerbombs Shaw for a two count. With Shaw on the apron, Luna climbs to the second rope inside the ring and suplexes Shaw over the ropes and back into the ring for another two count. Wow!
Luna has Shaw on her shoulders for the Luna Landing but Shaw pulls off the top turnbuckle in a corner. Shaw turns an Alabama Slam from Luna into a piledriver of sorts for a two count. Shock and Awe for another two count.
Shaw brings the belt into the ring. The official takes it away from her. Luna Landing by Luna for another two count. Shaw throws Luna into the exposed turnbuckle for a three count.
Winner: …and still MLP Canadian Women’s Champion, Gisele Shaw.
We cut to Maclin backstage. He is still ranting and raving. It is mayhem for all.
Interim MLP Canadian Champion Stu Grayson addresses the crowd. He is proud to be the Interim Champion. He thanks MLP and the crowd for their support. However, the MLP Canadian Champion, Josh Alexander walks out in all of his glory! He gets into the ring and both men hold up their individual titles.
