iMPACT: Ali and Hendry battle for supremacy

Greetings and salutations! It’s Thursday and that means that we will be talking all things TNA iMPACT. We are just 8 days away from the TNA+ Special, Emergence and that means that we will be building towards that tonight. Here is the expected lineup for the show:

  • TNA World Champion Trick Williams kicks off iMPACT
  • The Elegance Brand vs. Léi Yǐng Lee and Xia Brookside
  • Mara Sadè in action
  • Santino Marella makes an Emergence announcement
  • Steve Maclin (c) vs. Jake Something – TNA International Championship
  • Joe Hendry vs. Mustafa Ali
  • Jacy Jayne (c) vs. Ash by Elegance – TNA Knockouts World Championship

So without further ado, let’s get straight to the action.

Trick Williams came out for a promo to put over “Trick-NA” and how he’s going to beat Moose in front of his mama at Emergence in Baltimore. Trick called Emergence a “PLE” and said Moose came from a family of bobble heads. Moose came out to respond by hitting Williams with the microphone. Williams avoided the spear by rolling out of the ring. Moose is left int he ring eyeing down the TNA champion.

In the back, Gabby LaSpisa welcomed Gia Miller back to TNA Wrestling after the attack from Tessa Blanchard at Slammiversary. Miller threatened to kill Tessa Blanchard, then brought in Joe Hendry and Hendry says that he will make Mustafa Ali believe in tonight’s main event.

Mike Santana met with Sami Callahan backstage and he says he heard Callihan’s challenge from last week. Santana accepts and the match is set for Emergence. Both men shake hands. Eric Young and The Northern Armory show up and Young makes fun of both men for their constant failures in TNA. Santana looked like he wanted to attack Young, but he calmed down.

Steve Maclin (c) vs. Jake Something – TNA International Championship

Frankie Kazarian wwas on commentary for this match. Maclin with an Angle Slam for a nearfall. Maclin continues the attack as he attempts a Back Suplex, but Something blocked it and eventually both men hit a double clothesline and they both go down hard. Maclin backdropped Something to ringside, then followed that up with a dive out of the ring. The two battle outside and Something sent Maclin into the steel steps. The two brawled up to the apron and the ref was counting while they continued to punch each other and they fall off the apron to the 10-count.

Winner: Double DQ

Mance Warner and Steph De Lander went into Santino Marella’s empty office for some….quality time together….

Cedric Alexander talked about the importance of winning the X-Division championship. He says he used to call the X Division Championship his birthright when he broke out in this business. Cedric puts over Leon Slater as the youngest X Division Championship, but promises to end his reign at TNA Emergence.

Xia Brookside & Léi Yǐng Lee vs. The Elegance Brand (M & Heather By Elegance)

As the match goes on we see Lee with a vertical suplex. M distracted the referee, and this allowed Heather to wrap Lee’s arm around the ring post. The Elegance Brand worked over Lee’s injured arm and kept her away from her partner. Heather locks Lee with a surfboard and while still in control, Heather with a nasty looking snap of Lee’s arm. Lee was able to escape the surfboard, but was taken down hard with a Clothesline for a near fall. Brookside somehow by accident distracted the ref which gave the Elegance Brand the opening to take down Lee again. Lee eventually got the hot tag to Brookside, who cleared house. The Elegance brand took over again as Brookside gave Brookside a neckbreaker and Lee a DDT. moments later and out of nowhere, Lee hit M with a kick, then followed up with a spinning Facebuster to get the win.

Winner: Xia Brookside & Léi Yǐng Lee

Santino Marella and his daughter walked in on… stuff….that Mance Warner and Steph DeLander were doing.

In the back, Ash by Elegance is pissed at M and Heather for losing their match earlier in the show. Ash says she needs to focus on her TNA Knockouts World Championship match against Jacy Jayne later tonight and tells them to leave…

FIR$T CLA$$ Speaks

AJ Francis says KC Navarro has an announcement to make. Navarro says that he reaggravated his injury a couple of weeks ago, and it’s a torn ACL. Francis feels bad for Navarro, but says “next man up” and re-introduces Rich Swann. Francis says Navarro has always been a substitute and even makes fun of him. for costing them the titles at Slammiversary and for losing the match last week. AJ and Swann then kick the crutches out of KC’s hands and Francis tells Navarro to leave or else. Navarro slowly leaves depleted as we see the original FIR$T CLA$$ back.

Mara Sadè vs. Vicious Vicki

And here is the squash match of the week. Sadè won with her finisher, the “Finish Her”

Winner: Mara Sadè

TNA Knockouts World Championship: Ash By Elegance vs. Jacy Jayne (c)

As the match went on, Masha Slamovich attacked Ash for the disqualification. Jayne with a boot to Masha as the rest of Fatal Influence ran in. Brookside and Lee ran in along with the IInspiration. Fatal Influence is taken down along with the Elegance Brand.

Winner: Ash By Elegance (Jacy Jane Retains TNA Knockouts Championship)

Backstage Matt says it’s good to, once again, become TNA Tag Team Champions. Matt and Jeff are eager to defend TNA’s honor against anyone and they go on to say they are ready to defend the titles against anyone from anywhere. Jeff says they are looking forward to whoever steps up to them at Emergence.

Santino has tons of announcements

Santino Marella is on stage and has tons of announcements for next weeks Emergence. Here is what was announced:

  • Steve Maclin v. Jake Something in a no count-out, no disqualification match for the International Title.
  • Mike Santana v. Sami Callahan
  • Fatal Influence v. Elegance Brand v. The IInspiration v. Brookside/Lee for the Knockouts Tag Team Title.

Marella then called out the Nemeths and breaks it to them that they are not getting their contractually obligated rematch for the TNA Tag Team Titles AND they are actually suspended because of the attack to Home Town Man last week. Marella then announces that The Rascals will get the tag title match at Emergence.

Ryan Nemeth threatens to sue and after some back and forth it’s announced that Ryan Nemeth will face Home Town Man at Emergence.

Mustafa Ali vs. Joe Hendry

Ali took control with a neck vice and then hits a Neckbreaker for a near fall. Hendry with a block from an attempted tornado DDT and hits a Suplex. Hendry with a Fallaway Slam and he goes for a Chokeslam, but Ali escapes. Ali with a cradle for a 2-ccount, but Hendry comes right back with an Olympic Slam. Ali’s Secret Service tried to run in, but Hendry got rid of them. Hendry turns his atention back to Ali and hits a Cutter and the Standing Ovation, but Tasha Steelz pulled the ref out of the ring to break things up. John Skyler and Jason Hotch doubleteamed Hendry, but Hendry attacks them and gets them away from him, but Ali takes him down. Ali goes to the top, but missed a 450 splash. Hendry gave Ali an AA for another near fall as a new ref made their way in. Hendry went for another Standing Ovation, and Steelz interfered again. Ali sent Hendry to the floor, and Ali’s Agent Zero hit Hendry with a boot on the outside, then tosses back in the ring which gave Ali the chance to hit a 450 splash for the win.
