Dynamite: It’s a homecoming for all and messages sent to the AEW Champion

Greetings and salutations all! AEW is heading back home as they will be at Daily’s Place in Jacksonville for their Homecoming special. On this week’s show we will get Sting and Darby Allin versus Konosuke Takeshita and Powerhouse Hobbs. We will also hear from the AEW Champion and Claudio Castagnoli will face Hangman Page. We will also have a Brodie Lee tribute 8-man match so with all this action, let’s get straight to the show!

Hangman Page VS Claudio Castagnoli

Page gets things started eight away and the match heads to ringside early on. Castagnoli sends Page into the barricade and connects with a massive uppercut. Page comes back and gets some punches in before sending Castagnoli back into the ring. After Castagnoli gets some offense in, both men go back and forth with punches and strikes. Castagnoli gets the upperhand and puts Hangman in the swing, then he turns this into a Sharpshooter. Page ends up escaping and slamming him to get the momentum on his side. Page with a springboard clothesline then follows that up by diving onto him at ringside.

Castagnoli gets some offense in as he lifts Page over his head and slams him out of the ring. Claudio is all over Page as he stomps him and then back in the ring, he continues to control the action. Page rallies, but Castagnoli connects with a Big Boot. The fight gets intense and leaves the ring again as they brawl up the ramp. Back in the ring, Castagnoli hits Page with an uppercut for a 2-count. After both men trade punches and strikes again, Page sends Castagnoli and himself over the ropes with a clothesline. Page with a Moonsault attempt to Castagnoli on the outside, but he catches him and slams him then sends him to the barricade. Page comes back with a DDT on the floor then finally hits that Moonsault from the stage.

Back in the ring, Page with a Tombstone for a 2-count then Castagnoli sends Page face-first into the turnbuckles with a powerbomb, then follows that up with an uppercut in the corner and unloads on Page while he’s in the corner. Page counters and hits a Hurricanrana and two Buckshot Lariats for the win!

Winner: Hangman Page

We get highlights from the legacy of Brodie Lee.

Orange Cassidy, Adam Copeland, Preston Vance & Dustin Rhodes VS Brian Cage, Gates of Agony (Toa Liona & Bishop Kaun) & Lance Archer

Dustin Rhodes and Toa Liona start and Rhodes hits a Powerslam but Liona hits him with a headbutt. Vance and Cage are in. Vance hits Cage with a kick that has Copeland tagging in. Cassidy and COpeland eam up and double-team Cage. Kaun and Liona double team Cassidy for a bit then they are joined by Cage taking turns putting Cassidy in Holding Vertical Suplexes. Archer is in and drills Cassidy with a Knee. Jose the Assistant gets a distraction but Jake Roberts takes him out. Vance is in and cleans house for his team. Liona is in to stop things, but Rhodes tackles him. Cage takes control and kicks Vance, but Copeland with an Impaler.

Kaun slams Copeland and this is followed by Cassidy hitting Kaun with an Orange Punch. Archer takes Cassidy out with a chokeslam. Liona is in and hits a Samoan Drop on Vance. Cage and Archer argue which leads to Cage clotheslining Archer. Copelandn with a Spear on Cage and Vance pins Kaun for the win.

Winners: Orange Cassidy, Adam Copeland, Preston Vance & Dustin Rhodes

Jay White and The Gunns are all backstage and they tease Cole and the gang and say they want some gold…Billy Gunn and The Acclaimed show up and Bowens says they would be unstoppable if they held all the gold. Caster says they’re the people’s choice and then says that the people are liking Bullet Club Gold too. Bowens says they should be the “Bang Bang Scissor Gang” super team. White says they need time to think about the offer.

Samoa Joe Speaks…

AEW World Champion Samoa Joe comes to the ring and he says that they are making changes to the championship-challenging protocol. He says people don’t have to complain on social media so contenders have to bring their record to the championship committee. Joe is waiting….

Swerve Strickland is out and he reminds us that what he had with Hangman wasn’t personal, but he just wanted his spot and he took it. Strickland says he wants the title, and he’s going to take it.

Hangman Page is out and saus that he had a successful 2023 but he wasn’t focused on the title. Hangman says he will make it his in 2024 goal. Swerve leaves as Page gets in Joe’s face and tells him he will take the world title.

HOOK is out and just gets in Joe’s face, and talks to him and then says next week, then walks out.

Renee Paquette interviews AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm and her group. Mariah May asks her if she watched her debut. Storm says she didn’t watch it. Storm is asked about Deonna Purrazzo and knows shes from Italy and wants to chat with her.

Ricky Starks vs. Sammy Guevara

Starks and Guevara have a 50/50 match and then Starks gains the upper hand until Guevara takes control as he hits a Moonsault on Starks at ringside. Back in the ring, Guevara with some chops on Starks. After some more 50/50 action, Guevara connects with a huge kick. Starks is down and Guevara takes off from the top rope, but Starks gets his boots. Starks with a Powerbomb for a 2-count. Guevara goes for the GTH, but Starks counters and kicks him, but Guevara does a cradle pin for the 2-count.

Winner: Sammy Guevara

Guevara and Starks shake hands but Big Bill attacks Guevara from behind. Chris Jericho makes the save as his music plays like New Jack…

Thunder Rosa, Kris Statlander, Willow Nightingale & Anna Jay VS Skye Blue, Julia Hart, Saraya, & Ruby Soho (with Harley Cameron)

Jay takes control and tags Statlander to double-team Soho. Willow tags in and gets in on things, then Rosa does as well. Solo finally tags out after everyone takes their shots and tags Hart in. Hart and Rosa battle for a bit, until Blue distracts Rosa then Hart attacks her. Rosa is able to come back and hit some punches before tagging Willow in. Willow with a clothesline on Soho then climbs to the top, but Cameron pushes her off. Blue with some kicks as Willow is in the corner. Hart and Blue keep Willow away from her team and tag Saraya in. As Blue comes back to continue the isolation attack, Willow rallies and is able to get the hot tag to Statlander.

Statlander clears house and then her team hits a Quadruple Suplex. Willow with a Pounce on Blue. All 8 women are in and its pandemonium 2024. Hart gets in Jay’s face and the two trade strkes. Blue is in and Jay kicks her then locks in the Queen-slayer and gets the win.

Wheeler Yuta calls out Eddie Kingston and challenges him to a match.

Roderick Strong (with Undisputed Kingdom) VS Bryan Keith

Keith with a big boot, then follows this up with a series of chops. Strong comes right back and slams Keith onto the apron. Back in the ring, Strong sends Keith to the corner and goes to work on him. Keith comes back and both men trade strikes. Strong with a Suplex om Keith. Keith with a Jaw-Breaker for a 2-count. Strong comes right back and delivers a HARD punch to the face and hits End of Heartache for the win.

Winner: Roderick Strong

Adam Cole and the Undisputed Kingdom enter the ring with a mic in hand. Cole says they don’t care about getting respect. Cole declares Strong for the International title. He then says Taven and Bennett don’t get the respect they deserve. Cole then turns his attention to Wardlow and says that when the time is right THEY will win the AEW Title. Cole tells the fans to say hello to their new kingdom, and get comfortable because they’re going to be there for a long time.

Deonna Purrazzo is with Renee Paquette. Purrazzo says she is still on cloud 9 after her debut last week and has her eyes set on Storm. Purrazzo then says she will be debuting on Saturday’s Collision. Red Velvet interrupts and challenges her to a match for this weekend.

Tornado Tag Team Match: Sting & Darby Allin (with Ric Flair) VS Konosuke Takeshita & Powerhouse Hobbs (with Don Callis)

The brawl begins right away and as excpected, the fight ends up outside of the ring and through the entire venue. Allin dives onto Takeshita, but Takeshita with a rolling German suplex on the floor. Hobbs and Takeshita continue to control the match and they take it to Allin. Takeshita with a huge Knee on Allin. Hobbs continues the attack on Allin with a Powerslam. Hobbs and Takeshita throw Allin like a doll. Sting comes for the save and does a knee strike on Takeshita. Ric Flair gets in the ring and chops Hobbs, then follows that up with the nastiest move in the world, the dreaded eye poke.

Sting and Allin take control. Allin takes Taskeshita through the arena and Allin climbs up on top of the stage and dives onto Takeshita. Sting slams Hobbs through a table with a Scorpion Death Drop through a table and pins him for the win.

Winner: Sting and Darby Allin

Tony Schiavone is in the ring and asks Sting, Allin, and Flair who Stings opponent in his final match will be. The Young Bucks come back and have a stare down with everyone in the ring as the show ends….
