Callum Newman and Jake Lee are moving on in the New Japan Cup while Unbound Co. (Robbie X & Taiji Ishimori) defeated champions TMDK (Robbie Eagles & Kosei Fujita) for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships while Douki defeated Master Wato to retain his IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship at NJPW’s Anniversary Show today.
In the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships match, Eagles and Fujita had Robbie X on their shoulders. He flips them both over. Cutter off the ropes to Eagles. Fujita punches X in the face as he attempts a kick. As Fujita holds up X, Ishimori charges into the ring with a running knee to the face. Spin kick from X. Magic Killer on Fujita. X pins Fujita with his splash off the top rope for the win.
In his title defence, Douki pushed Wato into the official. As the official ducks, Douki tries to nail Wato with a punch to the “lower abdomen” but Wato blocks him. Wato hoist Douki up on his shoulders spinning him around. Douki kicks out of a suplex. Wato picks up Douki again but in doing so Douki legs hit the official sending him out of the ring. Douki rolls to the floor. Douki slides the Black Mirror into the ring. He leaps over the ropes for a DDT but Wato catches him in mid-air. Sho sneaks in from behind and punches Wato in the “lower abdomen”. Douki DDTs Wato on the Mirror. Douki pins Wato with his Suplex de la Luna.
As Douki celebrates his win, Yoh comes into the ring to challenge him. Yoh is wearing an Evil T-shirt for some reason. Yoh blocks an attack by Sho giving him Everything is Evil and does the same to Douki.
What could it all mean? Is Yoh the new Evil? Whaaaat?

Yoshinobu Kanemaru spits whiskey into Red Shoe’s eyes…but was he aiming for Sho? Kanemaru rips off his House of Torture shirt and gives Taichi a hand getting up. Kanemaru holds up Ren Narita so that Taichi can superkick him. He tosses Narita to the side and nails Taichi with the whiskey bottle. Narita bashes Taichi with his steel push-up bar. Narita pins Taichi.

El Phantasmo vs Boltin Oleg – New Japan Cup
Phantasmo and Oleg battle on the top rope. Oleg picks him up in a Fireman’s Carry to hit his Kamikaze from the second rope.

New Japan Cup Night 3 – Anniversary Event Show Results
You would think for an Anniversary event there would be bigger, more important matches but here you go…
Yuya Uemura and Masatora Yasuda vs Unbound Co. (Daiki Nagai & Drilla Moloney)
Naturally, the Young Lion eats the pin. Drilla puts Yasuda away with the Drilla Killer.

Another Young Lion is sacrificed to the wrestling gods. Akira makes Tatsuya Matsumoto submit to the Ground Tarantula submission move. Bolton and Henare throw hands after the match is over.

Tsuji goes for his spear. Kanemaru pulls the official in the way. He whips Tsuji into an exposed turnbuckle. Kanemaru takes a swig of his whiskey but Tsuji spears him for the win.

Yujiro hits Leona with his cane and pins him with Pimp Juice. Chase Owens and Umino battle around the outside of the ring. Owens slams Umino on the arena floor.

Lee puts Hashi in sleeper-like chokehold but when they get back to their feet Lee hits the Giant Killer Knee and the front facelock.

New Japan Cup – Callum Newman vs OSKAR
To escaps Oskar’s sleeper lock, Newman hyper extends Oskar’s knee, leg. A kick causes Oskar to collide with the official knocking him out of the ring. A jumping knee sends Oskar through the middle rope to the floor. A running stomp puts Oskar through some seated chairs. Back in the ring, Oskar catches Newman in a sleeper hold. Newman taps out…but there is no official. Zane Jay slides a steel chair into the ring. Oskar is distracted. As Oskar bends down to pick up the chair, Newman stomps his head into it. Newman pins Oskar.
