AEW Dynamite delivered a packed and chaotic night of action as the road to Revolution continued to take shape. Championship matches, faction warfare, and personal rivalries dominated the show, with several key storylines escalating in dramatic fashion.
The evening saw MJF defend the AEW World Championship, Jon Moxley battle Hechicero in a bruising encounter, and the AEW World Trios Championships change hands in the night’s explosive main event. Elsewhere, rivalries intensified between Swerve Strickland and Brody King, Thekla and Thunder Rosa battled for the AEW Women’s World Championship, and several major confrontations hinted at what could unfold in the weeks ahead.
AEW World Title Match: MJF (c) vs. Kevin Knight
Last night’s AEW Dynamite opened with championship stakes as Kevin Knight challenged MJF for the AEW World Championship.
The match began with a technical exchange as the two locked up before Knight quickly gained the early advantage. Knight used his athleticism to throw MJF with three crisp arm drags, following up with a submission hold targeting the champion’s arm. Knight then ran MJF over with a shoulder tackle, drawing an early reaction from the crowd.
MJF responded with a right hand to regain control, but Knight fired back with a stiff chop to the chest. Knight then pressed the attack in the corner, unloading forearms and stomps before climbing to the top rope in search of his signature UFO Splash.
The champion avoided disaster by rolling out of the way, forcing Knight to crash to the mat. MJF capitalised with a knee to the midsection and began to slow the pace, unleashing punches and whipping Knight chest-first into the ropes twice.
Knight refused to stay down. He fought back with a series of right hands and even spiked MJF with a DDT after the champion attempted to escape to the floor. Knight followed with several near falls, including a quick roll-up and a backslide that forced MJF to kick out twice.
Following a break, Knight nearly captured the championship. The challenger soared from the top rope with a spectacular UFO Splash and covered the champion, but the referee’s delayed count gave MJF enough time to kick out.
Knight attempted to finish the match with another UFO Splash, but this time MJF countered by raising his knees. The champion quickly followed up with the Heat Seeker, driving Knight into the corner before securing the decisive pinfall.
Winner: MJF
After the match, MJF’s frustration boiled over. The champion shoved the referee from the ring and looked to continue the assault on Knight. However, “Hangman” Adam Page appeared on the entrance ramp, distracting MJF long enough for Mike Bailey to sneak up behind him and send him crashing to the floor.
Darby Allin and Orange Cassidy vs. The Dogs: (Clark Connors and Gabe Kidd)
The action resumed with an explosive tag team match that barely waited for the bell to begin.
Darby Allin and Orange Cassidy attacked their opponents on the entrance ramp before the official start of the match. Allin dropkicked Clark Connors into the barricade, while Gabe Kidd dragged Cassidy toward the ring steps.
Cassidy responded by sending Kidd crashing into the steps, but Connors delivered a brutal spear that drove Cassidy through the timekeeper’s table. Once the bell officially rang, Kidd seized control by driving Allin hard into the mat.
After the break, Connors and Kidd isolated Allin before Cassidy finally entered the match and shifted the momentum. Cassidy soared from the top rope with a clothesline to Kidd, then stunned Connors with a knee strike before hitting the Beach Break. Kidd broke up the pin attempt just in time.
The match quickly descended into chaos. Cassidy landed the Stun Dog Millionaire on Kidd before Allin followed with a Code Red. Cassidy then spiked Connors with a Tornado DDT while Allin delivered a Coffin Drop from the top rope to the outside, wiping out both opponents.
Allin rolled Connors back into the ring, where Cassidy finished the job with the Orange Punch.
Winners: Orange Cassidy and Darby Allin
The celebration did not last long. David Finlay ambushed Cassidy and Allin from behind. Kidd and Connors held Allin in place as Finlay struck him with his scepter. Finlay then stacked Cassidy on top of Allin while standing over both men alongside Kidd and Connors.
The IInspiration (Cassie Lee and Jessie McKay) vs. The Brawling Birds (Alex Windsor and Jamie Hayter)
Cassie Lee and Jessie McKay attempted to kick things off with a dance party, even asking for their music to play again. Their celebration was cut short when Jamie Hayter and Alex Windsor stormed the ring and attacked them from behind.
The bell rang with the Brawling Birds already in control. Windsor blasted McKay with a clothesline before she and Hayter delivered a double boot to Lee. The pair followed up with a double suplex and continued their dominant assault.
The match ended quickly as Windsor and Hayter flattened both opponents with a double clothesline before hitting their finishing combination.
Winners: The Brawling Birds
“Hangman” Adam Page vs. Marty Snow
“Hangman” Adam Page then entered the ring to face Marty Snow in a brief but decisive contest.
Page wasted little time. He ran Snow over with a boot and immediately followed up with the Buckshot Lariat to end the match in seconds.
Winner: Hangman Adam Page
After the match, Page grabbed a microphone and turned his attention to AEW World Champion MJF. Page promised to teach MJF a lesson that his parents should have taught him nearly thirty years ago. He warned the champion that he had no conscience in a Texas Death Match and vowed to rip him apart.
MJF appeared on the stage, reminding Page that he had just retained the AEW World Championship. The champion warned Page to avoid provoking him ahead of their scheduled press conference next week.
The confrontation escalated when Kyle Fletcher, Mark Davis, and Kazuchika Okada attacked Page from behind. Mike Bailey and Kevin Knight rushed to Page’s aid before Don Callis appeared alongside Lance Archer.
Callis announced that he had spoken with Tony Khan and declared that Page, Bailey, and Knight would defend the AEW World Trios Championship later in the night against The Don Callis Family.
We then cut to a video of a confrontation between FTR, Stokely, and The Young Bucks, who all participated in a sit-down in a conference room with Renee Paquette. This segment ended with FTR laying out Brandon Cutler to honour their no physicality clause, which was agreed to prior to the sit-down.
Jon Moxley vs. Hechicero
Jon Moxley faced Hechicero in a technical and brutal contest that showcased both men’s toughness.
Hechicero opened aggressively, raining down punches on Moxley before the former champion responded in brutal fashion by biting his opponent’s finger. The two traded strikes before Hechicero stunned Moxley with an elbow drop from the middle rope.
After the break, the contest turned into a submission battle. Hechicero locked in a Texas Cloverleaf before trapping Moxley’s ankle in the ropes and stomping on it.
Moxley fought back with a superplex before attempting a sleeper hold. Hechicero countered with a sleeper of his own, which led to a series of transitions, including an armbar and a double knee bar.
Both men traded heavy forearms and chops before Hechicero rocked Moxley with a kick to the head. Moxley responded with a clothesline, a Curb Stomp, and finally the Death Rider to secure the victory.
Winner: Jon Moxley
After the match, Konosuke Takeshita appeared at ringside and pointed toward the Revolution sign while staring down Moxley.
Brody King entered the ring and called out Swerve Strickland. Prince Nana appeared on the stage, but Strickland attacked from behind using a chain.
Strickland wrapped the chain around King’s face and the ring rope before choking him. Strickland declared that he had sent a message to Kenny Omega and was now sending one to King as well.
Bandido eventually ran to the ring to drive Strickland and Nana away.
AEW Women’s World Title Match: Thekla (c) vs. Thunder Rosa
Thunder Rosa challenged Thekla for the AEW Women’s World Championship in another intense contest.
Rosa started fast, smashing the champion into the turnbuckle and launching herself from the apron to knock Thekla into the barricade and ring steps. She followed with a splash from the barricade before rolling the champion back into the ring.
Thekla regained control by sending Rosa crashing to the floor and stomping on her spine.
Following the break, Rosa battled back with a Stunner and a series of clotheslines in the corner. Thekla responded with vicious strikes and finally delivered a Curb Stomp to retain the championship.
Winner: Thekla
After the match, the Sisters of Sin and Kris Statlander arrived, forcing security to intervene. Thekla delivered another Curb Stomp to Rosa before retreating as Statlander fought her way into the ring.
Tommaso Ciampa joined Renee Paquette on the entrance ramp and called out Kyle Fletcher for using the rest of The Don Callis Family to hide behind to avoid defending the TNT Title against him. Stokely and FTR then came out, and FTR and Ciampa shared an embrace. Dax Harwood then told Ciampa to join their faction, but Ciampa said he still holds a grudge against Stokely, and Harwood said that if Ciampa has a problem with Stokely, he also has a problem with FTR.
Ciampa then clocked Harwood, and afterward, Harwood said he’d see Ciampa on Saturday’s AEW Collision.
After the ad break, we are in the medical office as Toni Storm finds Orange Cassidy with an icebag on his ribs, and they both agree to take on Marina Shafir and Wheeler Yuta at Revolution.
AEW World Trios Title Match: Jet Set Rodeo (Adam Page, Kevin Knight, and Mike Bailey) (c) vs. The Don Callis Family (Kazuchika Okada, Kyle Fletcher, and Mark Davis)
The main event saw the AEW World Trios Championships on the line.
All six men began brawling immediately. Mike Bailey dazzled with his speed early, sending Fletcher out of the ring before connecting with a boot that knocked him from the apron.
The momentum shifted when Okada launched Page between the barricade and the ring apron during a chaotic exchange outside the ring.
Following the break, Bailey delivered a breathtaking springboard moonsault to Fletcher before dropping Mark Davis with a top rope dropkick. Bailey nearly ended the match with a series of kicks and a standing moonsault, but Davis broke up the pin.
Page and Davis eventually tagged in and exchanged heavy blows. Page connected with Dead Eye and seemed poised to retain the titles, but Fletcher interrupted the count.
The closing moments descended into chaos. Bailey wiped out Fletcher with a moonsault outside the ring while Page climbed to the top rope. Davis escaped Page’s attempt at a moonsault.
At that moment, MJF appeared and blindsided Page with a clothesline. The distraction allowed Okada to blast Kevin Knight with the Rainmaker before Davis finished the match with a piledriver.
Winners: The Don Callis Family – NEW CHAMPIONS
The show closed with The Don Callis Family standing tall with championship gold as Dynamite ended in dramatic fashion.
