A chaotic night of action on AEW Dynamite set the stage for AEW Dynasty, with multiple rivalries exploding across the show and major matches confirmed ahead of Sunday’s pay-per-view.
From the opening moments, last night’s AEW Dynamite felt less like a battleground as factions clashed, tempers boiled over, and several key storylines reached new levels of intensity, with the road to Dynasty now firmly defined.
Excalibur, Nigel McGuinness, and Tony Schiavone greeted the TV audience, but before the show could properly begin, Jon Moxley and Will Ospreay were already fighting in the parking lot. What started as a one-on-one brawl quickly spiralled into a full-scale faction war as the Death Riders joined Moxley in attacking Ospreay.
United Empire soon arrived to even the odds, with backup including Alex Windsor, Francesco Akira, Henare, and Callum Newman. The fight spilled from the parking lot into the arena, with bodies flying and security nowhere to be seen.
Inside the ring, Moxley and Daniel Garcia attempted to isolate Ospreay, but the numbers game shifted repeatedly as both groups traded control. Amid the chaos, Ospreay issued a challenge for an eight-man “Chaos in Canada” match, setting up a major showdown between the factions.
A pre-taped message from Don Callis added further intrigue to the Dynasty card. Callis confirmed that Kyle Fletcher is injured, meaning the TNT Championship will now be decided in a Casino Gauntlet Match.
He also revealed a change to another planned match, with Kazuchika Okada now teaming with Konosuke Takeshita instead of Fletcher to face The Young Bucks.
The Don Callis Family (Andrade El Idolo, Konosuke Takeshita, and Mark Davis) vs. Bandido, Darby Allin, and Jack Perry
The in-ring action began with a trios bout as Darby Allin, Jack Perry, and Bandido, replacing Brody King, faced The Don Callis Family’s Andrade El Idolo, Konosuke Takeshita, and Mark Davis.
The match quickly broke down into chaos, with Allin even grabbing a microphone mid-match to call out MJF, adding another layer to the night’s tensions. Despite moments of brilliance from the babyface trio, including Bandido’s athletic offence and Perry’s aerial attacks, the Callis Family capitalised.
Konosuke Takeshita’s power and Mark Davis’ presence proved decisive, and after isolating Perry, Andrade El Idolo connected with The Message to secure the win.
Winner: The Don Callis Family
The aftermath descended into another wild brawl, with The Young Bucks storming the ring, only for Okada, Lance Archer, and others to join the fray. The Rascalz also entered the fight, turning ringside into complete chaos.
AEW TBS Title Match: Willow Nightingale (c) vs. Queen Aminata
Willow Nightingale defended her AEW TBS Championship against Queen Aminata in a hard-hitting contest.
Aminata brought a physical approach, targeting Nightingale with strikes and control on the outside, while former AEW Women’s World Champion Hikaru Shida watched from the crowd.
Despite Aminata scoring multiple near falls, Nightingale rallied, showcasing her resilience. A Doctor Bomb ultimately sealed the victory, allowing the champion to retain.
Winner: Willow Nightingale
The two competitors shared a handshake afterwards, but with multiple challengers circling, Nightingale’s reign remains under threat.
Chris Jericho addressed the crowd, reflecting on his return and AEW’s growth, before preparing to sign a contract for his next match.
He was interrupted by Ricochet, who questioned Jericho’s relevance and mocked his recent focus outside the ring. Jericho responded by revealing a clause allowing him to choose his opponent for Dynasty.
In a nostalgic moment, Jericho revived his “List,” dramatically revealing Ricochet’s name to confirm the match.
Casino Gauntlet #1 Spot Match: Tommaso Ciampa vs. Mascara Dorada
In a Casino Gauntlet qualifier, Tommaso Ciampa battled Mascara Dorada.
Dorada dazzled with high-flying offence, including a Tornillo and a 450 Splash, but Ciampa’s experience proved crucial. After withstanding the onslaught, Ciampa delivered a hanging DDT followed by a running knee to secure the win.
Winner: Tommaso Ciampa
The chaos extended backstage, where David Finlay and Clark Connors attacked Orange Cassidy and Roderick Strong. The assault served as a warning to the AEW World Trios Champions, signalling further conflict ahead.
Adam Copeland and Christian Cage addressed their issues with FTR, blaming jealousy for their fractured relationship.
FTR, alongside Stokely, interrupted, and the confrontation quickly turned violent. Trent Beretta and Rocky Romero attacked from behind, allowing FTR to take control.
The segment ended with a brutal assault on Cage’s arm, as Cash Wheeler stomped it against a chair, leaving both Copeland and Cage laid out.
United Empire (Callum Newman, Francesco Akira, Henare, and Will Ospreay) vs. Death Riders (Claudio Castagnoli, Daniel Garcia, Jon Moxley, and Pac)
The main event delivered on its promise of chaos, as United Empire faced the Death Riders in a wild, weapon-filled match.
The action spilled everywhere, with tables, ladders, and strikes dominating the contest. Claudio Castagnoli, Daniel Garcia, and Pac worked to isolate Ospreay, while Moxley unleashed his trademark brutality.
United Empire rallied, with Callum Newman and Francesco Akira playing key roles in turning the tide. High-risk spots included multiple table crashes and aerial attacks that brought the crowd to its feet.
In the closing moments, Ospreay battled back, sending Moxley through a table before securing the pinfall with help from his teammates.
Winners: United Empire
The show ended with Kenny Omega addressing his upcoming AEW World Championship match against MJF.
Omega rejected MJF’s recent insults and vowed to reclaim the title, framing the match as a chance to restore AEW’s identity. MJF responded by questioning Omega’s ability to deliver and claiming superiority.
The tension boiled over when MJF attempted a cheap shot, only for Omega to counter and stand tall. Omega took possession of MJF’s Dynamite Diamond Ring and stood tall over the AEW World Champion to close the show.
