Tommaso Ciampa make his AEW debut against Mark Briscoe for the TNT championship, and the Babes of Wrath put up the tag titles in the main event.

AEW Collision: Psychos, Babes, and Belts (oh, my!)

It’s Saturday Night, and it’s all right for fighting on AEW Collision. So you know what that means?

No, not coverage from Saudi Arabia. This night belongs to Mark Briscoe defending the TNT championship against a man he knows all too well from back in the Ring of Honor days. Tommaso Ciampa is in All Elite Wrestling, looking to make an impact, challenging Briscoe for the title. Plus, The Babes of Wrath in Harley Cameron and Willow Nightingale will be in the main event as they defend the AEW Women’s Tag Team titles from the Sisters of Sin in Skye Blue and Julia Hart

This is the night we see a Psycho Killer face against the practitioner of Redneck Kung Fu, and Babes face against Sin

Darby Allin vs. Clark Connors

As Allin rolls down, Connors sneak atacks and gives a powerslam to the AEW favorite in the ring.

Allin fights back with a Code Red for a two count. He goes up top, and Connors trips him up, and he tumbles down to the floor. Then he throws Allin to the guardrails, and in the ring, he gives a pounce. Connors does not let up, and during Picture-in-Picture, he proceeds to beat down the AEW original. He rushes and tackles Allin in the corner, and an elbow drop only gets him a two count. Connors lands with a spear that cuts him in half as they tumble to the floor.

Now the steel steps come into play, and he tries to suplex him on the structures, but Allin escapes. Then he tries to whip him to the structure, but Allin leaps over, dropkicks, and dives on Connors. Then there is a sunset powerbomb to a spear to Allin, and he still won’t stay down. Connors attempts a straight jacket choke, but he fights out and nails a Scorpion Death Drop. While a coffin drop misses, he manages to rally and cinch the Scorpion Deathlock, forcing Connors to tap out.

McGuiness acknowledges this was a “Sting of defeat” to Connors.

Heh, nice one.

Allin gets on the mic and states emphatically that he won the war against the Death Riders. He wants to stand on top of the AEW title picture as he stood on top of Mount Everest, but Gabe Kidd punks him out, and he and Connors run him through the steps. Kidd says this has nothing to do with the Death Riders, that he’s on his time, and wants Allin to know that he will end him.

The Rascalz (Zac Wentz and Dezmond Xavier, with Myron Reed) vs. The CRU (Lio Rush and Action Andretti, with Lacey Lane)

This is the debut match for the Rascalz, and it’s a feeling-out moment in the fast lane by Xavier and Rush at the start of the match. Tag to Wentz, and he and Xavier take Rush to the rodeo.

Now Andretti is in, and the CRU put a stop to Wentz’s shenanigans. The action spills out onto the floor he during Picture in Picture, where The Rascalz have their way and then…

Ads (Ugh!! Seriously, you Monkeys in the Truck™!)

We come back, and The CRU make Xavier a Rascal in Peril, but he manages to escape and gets the hot tag to Wentz, and he is Smoking En Fuego (if you catch my drift). It’s just fast-paced action with fans on their feet. Wentz delivers with an assisted Hot Fire Flame that gets the pin and win.

After the match, Wheeler Yuta attacks. Storm interjects, and Marina Shafir appears to take care of the Timeless one. Yuta gets the mic and “interviews” Cassidy, who he can’t hear through his garbage hair. Incensed, he gets scissors to clip his hair until Storm makes the save and challenges them in a mixed hair versus hair match at Grand Slam Australia

Lexy Nair is backstage with Kingston and Ortiz and the Grizzled Young Veterans, and things devolve when the Mad King suggests a Parking Lot fight, until they get punked out by Big Bill and Bryan Keith.

AEW TNT Championship: Mark Briscoe(c) vs. Tommaso Ciampa

There is a nice “Holy S***!” chant by Arlington as Ciampa enters the AEW ring for the first time. The bell rings, and they shake hands and lock up. Briscoe and Ciampa test each other out, with neither man gaining an advantage. It’s not long as the action spills to the floor with a dive, and Briscoe takes it to the Psycho Killer.

Ciampa picks up the fury, and the champ is left staggering. Now Briscoe launches the Redneck Kung Fu, and they chop along the apron edge, until Ciampa nails a Psycho Driller on the apron edge and during Picture in Picture, it is all Psycho Killer, no filler.

With ten minutes left, both men are going for broke with a Blockbuster by Briscoe from the edge to the floor. Ciampa counters with a draping DDT for a count of two. Briscoe comes back with a froggy ‘bow for a two count.

Ciampa returns fire with an avalanche Psycho Driller, and he almost gets the pin. Both men jockey for position, and Ciampa hits overdrive even as Briscoe introduces a table, but he stops it. He celebrates, but Briscoe wipes him out on the table. The end comes as Ciampa delivers the running knee for the three.

Fans chant, “You deserve it” to the Psycho Killer, as Briscoe raises his hand. Schiavone notes that, besides Mercedes Moné, Ciampa is the second to win a singles title since their AEW debut.

That brings out Kyle Fletcher with the slow golf clap, and you know what that means down the road.

Josh Alexander is backstage with a message as Archer and Romero beat up some jobbers.

Loving the Psycho Killer in AEW, and we can only hope to see what that evolves.

But it’s time for the Main Event for the…

Women’s Tag Team Championship: The Babes of Wrath (Harley Cameron and Willow Nightingale)(c) vs. The Sisters of Sin (Julia Hart and Skye Blue)

Hart and Cameron start, but it soon devolves to a Pier Four as the Sistere have their way with the Babes. They attempt a double suplex but it gets blocked by Nightingale and a running senton assist on Blue getsa two count.

Things look good for the Babes as Cameron takes it to the Sister of Sin, and during Picture in Picture, Hart and Blue regain control as Cameron is a Babe in Peril. At one point, the Sisters do a Tarantula/dropkick combo for a two count.

Cameron escapes with a backdrop suplex and the hot tag to Nightingale, and she is a Babe En Fuego. Again, things descend into chaos even as Hart goes Old School with a huracanrana, but Nightingale attempts a submission, only for Blue to break it up. She goes for the Babe With The Powerbomb, but Hart counters with a facebuster. Once again, mayhem ensues, but the end comes when Blue succumbs to an Eat De-feet/Slam combo for the one, two, and three.

After the match, Thekla enters and has her own way, until Kris Statlander makes the save. Then Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford stack the odds, and things get worse as the show comes to a close
