Greetings and salutations! Tonight is going to be a special night in pro wrestling with John Cena’s final match happening in Washington DC, but we cannot forget that AEW is on the other side of the pond this week and will add to an already awesome night in wrestling. AEW Collision will feature matches as we are also in the middle of the Continental Classic and boy oh boy has it been a classic already, as we have seen some shocks and surprises. We are also seeing Swerve move up the mountain again as he has his eyes set on Samoa Joe and the World Title. Here is a preview for tonight.
- TNT Championship: Mark Briscoe (c) vs. Daniel Garcia
- Continental Classic Blue League: CMLL World Heavyweight Champion Claudio Castagnoli (6 points) vs. IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Konosuke Takeshita (6 points)
- Continental Classic Gold League: Kevin Knight (3 points) vs. “Speedball” Mike Bailey (3 points)
- Singles Match: Swerve Strickland vs. Josh Alexander
- Tag Team Match: AEW Women’s World Champion Kris Statlander & Jamie Hayter vs. Sisters of Sin (Julia Hart & Skye Blue)
With all of this and more, let’s get straight to the action
AEW Collision started with Tony Schiavone welcomed viewers to the broadcast and was joined on commentary by Nigel McGuinness as the show opened with Elton John’s theme music. The commentary team previewed the night’s lineup before footage aired from AEW Dynamite, where “Hangman” Adam Page declared his intention to pursue the AEW World Championship. Ring announcer Arkady Aura handled introductions as Prince Nana appeared on the stage and we got thing started!
Swerve Strickland (w/ Prince Nana) vs. Josh Alexander (w/ Don Callis)
Don Callis joined the broadcast booth as Strickland controlled the early moments with a backbreaker and multiple Neckbreakers. We got some loud “F— Don Callis” chants from the crowd. Alexander mounted a comeback on the floor, lifting Strickland into a vertical Suplex and dropping him knee-first onto the broadcast table.
Strickland fought back while selling a right knee injury, hitting a top-rope suplex for a near fall. Alexander targeted the knee with a single crab, but Strickland escaped by reaching the ropes. Strickland responded with a House Call, knocking off Alexander’s headgear, then followed with the JML Driver and got the win.
Winner: Swerve Strickland
After the match, Strickland recalled being AEW World Champion the last time AEW was in Cardiff and declared it was time to reclaim the title. He made it clear he was not interested in fighting the Don Callis Family, Powerhouse Hobbs, or Katsuyori Shibata. He has his sights set on the AEW World Championship.

AEW Women’s Champion Kris Statlander & Jamie Hayter vs. Julia Hart & Skye Blue
Statlander and Hayter entered separately before Thekla appeared on the stage as a distraction. Julia Hart and Skye Blue ambushed Statlander and Hayter from behind before the bell.
Statlander and Hayter recovered, but the heels will heel as Hart distracted the referee, allowing Blue to strike Hayter from the apron. Blue later hit a Destroyer on Statlander for a close call, but Hayter broke up the pin. Hayter avoided a charging Blue, who accidentally knocked Hart off the apron. Hart came back, and was hit with a Hayterade, allowing Hayter to pick up the win.
Winners: Kris Statlander & Jamie Hayter
After the match, Hayter pointed at Statlander’s championship belt. Thekla was later shown watching from a luxury box.

Blue League Match: CMLL World Heavyweight Champion Claudio Castagnoli vs. IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Konosuke Takeshita
With both men tied atop the Blue League standings, Castagnoli and Takeshita delivered a hard-hitting, physical contest. Don Callis again joined commentary as the action spilled onto the entrance ramp early. Takeshita later connected with a flip dive on the floor, while Castagnoli countered with a Giant Swing and transitioned into submission attempts.
In the final minutes, Takeshita survived the Neutralizer, and Castagnoli barely beat the referee’s count after being sent to the floor. Takeshita attempted Raging Fire, but Castagnoli countered just moments before time expired.
Result: Time-limit draw (20:00)
Updated Points: Castagnoli – 7, Takeshita – 7
The two champions continued trading punches after the bell until referees separated them as the crowd boo’d the results of the draw.

Women’s Tag Team Champions Celebration Interrupted…. (of course)
Tony Schiavone introduced AEW Women’s Tag Team Champions Willow Nightingale and Harley Cameron in the ring. Willow reflected on previously facing Cameron in the same venue, while Cameron rambled humorously about borrowing gear from other wrestlers before Willow cut her off and expressed how proud she was to be her partner. Cameron stated that their first challengers could be anyone.
The celebration was interrupted by Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa, and Shirakawa said they wanted a fight fans would remember, while Storm claimed that even in defeat, she and Shirakawa delivered exactly that.
TBS Champion Mercedes Moné then appeared on the stage, declaring that no championship celebration could happen without her. She insulted everyone in the ring and the crowd. She said that it was her who lead her team to victory at Blood & Guts. Storm challenged Moné to fight, but Moné said no and said she would bring a “team of killers” for a match on Wednesday in Manchester, England. Storm had more words for Moné.

Gold League Match: Mike Bailey vs. Kevin Knight
Bailey and Knight showed mutual respect as the match got underway by adhering to the Code of Honor. The match quickly escalated into a fast-paced altercation. Bailey targeted Knight with kicks and aerial attacks, while Knight countered with explosive springboard maneuvers, including a Coast-to-Coast dropkick that looked absolutely marvelous.
Knight attempted the UFO Splash, but Bailey avoided it and responded with a spinning heel kick for a near fall. After a series of counters and close calls, Bailey seated Knight on the top turnbuckle and executed the Rubik’s Cube to secure the victory.
Winner: Mike Bailey

TNT Championship Match: Mark Briscoe (c) vs. Daniel Garcia (w/ Marina Shafir)
Garcia and Marina Shafir entered through the crowd, followed by Briscoe’s entrance from the stage. Shafir did what she does best and that is playing a role of distractor. After every distraction, Garcia would hit Briscoe with strikes and a even a swinging Neckbreaker once.
Briscoe was about to pick up the win, but Shafir interfered again, tripping him from the apron. The referee eventually caught Shafir and ejected her from ringside. As officials dealt with the ejection, Wheeler Yuta entered the ring, allowing Garcia to land a low blow and a piledriver for a near fall.
Briscoe rallied right back and hit a Jay Driller to retain his title.
Winner: Mark Briscoe — AND STILL TNT Champion
