Zilla Fatu has officially arrived in WWE, making his presence felt with a major appearance during the main event of Tuesday’s episode of NXT.
Zilla Fatu interrupted the number one contender’s match between Cruz Montana and Grayson Waller on last night’s episode of WWE NXT, which was set to determine the next challenger for Tony D’Angelo‘s NXT Championship. His interference caused the match to end in a disqualification before he attacked both competitors.
The 26-year-old delivered splashes to Montana and Waller before turning his attention towards D’Angelo, who was watching from ringside. Fatu told the NXT Champion that there was a “new sheriff in town”, immediately putting himself on the champion’s radar.
WWE also appears to be keeping Fatu’s established ring name. NXT commentator Vic Joseph specifically identified the newcomer as Zilla Fatu during the segment, rather than introducing him under a new WWE name.
Fatu’s arrival follows recent reports that he was expected to head to the WWE Performance Center after completing his remaining commitments on the independent scene.
The son of late WWE star Umaga, Fatu is part of the wider Anoa’i wrestling family, which also includes Roman Reigns, The Usos and Solo Sikoa.
Zilla Fatu’s Wrestling Career So Far
Zilla Fatu began his professional wrestling career in 2023 after training under WWE Hall of Famer Booker T. He subsequently became a regular for Booker’s Reality of Wrestling promotion while also establishing himself elsewhere on the independent circuit.
His accomplishments outside WWE include reigns as 4th Rope Heavyweight Champion and House of Glory Crown Jewel Champion. Fatu recently lost the latter championship to Amazing Red at HOG High Intensity on August 8.
