Overnight, Joey Janela has become the most hated man in the wrestling business.
At last night’s GCW: Baller Blockin on TrillerTV he laid a beating on the teenage, surviving son of Brody Lee.
Janela took on AEW’s The Blade at the event.
Janela was accompanied to the ring by Brody Lee Jr. as his second. At times during the match, Brody interfered on Janela’s behalf including stepping in the Blade’s way when Janela ended up outside the ring. The Blade just shoved him aside.
Brody also tripped up Blade by grabbing his leg from outside the ring at the end of the match. Blade dragged Brody into the ring. Brody dodged a punch, super kicked Blade in the face. Janela super kicked Blade and pinned him with a Death Valley Driver.
After the match, Brody lifted Janela’s hand in victory.
Janela admitted that he and Brody had their issues in the past. He called him “hard-working” and a “pal”.
Before Brody could speak, the crowd drowned him out with chants of:
Brody! Brody! Brody!
A person on the audience heckled Brody. Brody asked for security to remove him.
The crowd chanted:
F–k that guy! F–k that guy!
Brody asked Janela what was happening with Spring Break this year.
“I want you there Brody Lee. I want you there to support me and GCW on the 10th anniversary of Spring Break,” said Janela.
“You didn’t let me finish, Joey. I want to know what YOU are doing at Spring Break?” asked Brody.
Janela explained everyone would have to “stay tuned”.
“I want you in my corner, buddy,” asked Janela.
“Joey, I don’t want to watch. I don’t want to support you. I want to wrestle at Spring Break!” replied Brody.
The crowd chanted:
“Let him wrestle! Let him wrestle!
“Calm down, guys. Brody Lee Jr. is only 14-years-old,” said Janella promising that in four more years he would let him wrestle on the show.
Brody grabbed the microphone out of Janela’s hands.
“I don’t want to wrestling ANYONE. I want to wrestle YOU!” Brody demanded.
The crowd chanted:
Holy S–t! Holy S–t!
“Kid, you have a wild imagination. I will see you in four years,” said Janela turning his back on Brody.
Brody asked Janela if he was scared that he would embarrass him.
Janela brushed off Brody again.
Brody called him a “bitch’.
The crowd chanted:
Bitch! Bitch!
Janela turned around punching Brody in the face.
Janela put his hands to head, shocked at what he had done then…he smiled.
He gave Brody a piledriver.
The crowd chanted:
You sick f–k! You sick f–k!
Janela posed on top of Brody as officials dragged Janella off.
