Drew McIntyre versus Jacob Fatu on tonight’s WWE SmackDown is intended to build momentum towards WrestleMania 42, rather than serve as a final chapter in their rivalry.
According to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the March 20 match is designed to increase interest ahead of their scheduled WrestleMania encounter.
“McIntyre vs. Fatu is scheduled for the 3/20 SmackDown show but it was described as something designed to heighten interest in their Mania match,” Meltzer wrote.
The bout comes as WWE continues to finalise the WrestleMania 42 card. Confirmed matches include Stephanie Vaquer versus Liv Morgan for the Women’s World Championship, Jade Cargill versus Rhea Ripley for the WWE Women’s Championship, AJ Lee versus Becky Lynch for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship, Brock Lesnar versus Oba Femi, and Drew McIntyre versus Jacob Fatu.
Besides Drew McIntyre Vs. Jacob Fatu, What Other Matches Are Set For Tonight’s SmackDown
