After Ridge Holland publicly called out WWE for making the decision not to renew his contract, it has now been reported that his contract has been terminated.
Ridge Holland took to Twitter on November 4 to publicly call out WWE for deciding not to renew his contract and allowing it to expire on November 14, stating that he felt “hung out to dry” by the company. But now, a report from Fightful Select has stated that WWE has decided to terminate Holland’s contract, effective immediately, as they believe his social media outburst is a breach of his contract.
Holland’s social media post stated that while WWE is paying for his medical expenses, because he’d no longer be receiving regular payments come November 14, he’d no longer be able to pay his mortgage. This new termination will mean he will not be paid up until November 14, making his financial situation even more dire.
How Did The Wrestling World React To Ridge Holland’s Social Media Outburst?
There were mixed feelings for Ridge Holland following his social media post about not getting his WWE contract renewed, with many jumping to the defence of the Yorkshire-based wrestler, saying that he should file a class action lawsuit against WWE.
There were also those who sided with WWE, stating that they can’t understand how Holland has not earned enough money to pay off his mortgage after spending seven years with the promotion and likely earned a good wage as he was once a main roster star.
In recent news, a GoFundMe campaign has been set up for Ridge Holland after his WWE contract termination.
