WWE reportedly sought to cut millions from its payroll in recent weeks, leading to both roster releases and major contract restructuring attempts, according to a new Fightful Select report. Several talents were reportedly given only days to decide on significant pay cuts, with Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods choosing to leave the company rather than accept reduced deals despite substantial money remaining on their contracts.
The report also noted growing frustration within the wrestling industry over how negotiations were handled, particularly with longtime veterans and recently re-signed talents. Fightful further stated that multiple people within AEW have internally pushed for New Day to be brought into the company following their WWE departure.
Brody King and Eddie Kingston shared strong political opinions during a panel at Squared Circle Expo VI while discussing whether wrestling and politics can be separated. King bluntly stated “F**k ICE” when addressing Immigration and Customs Enforcement, while Kingston argued wrestlers should use their platforms for positive causes, also criticising Donald Trump and referencing his place in the WWE Hall of Fame.
