A recent absence from WWE SmackDown had sparked questions, especially given the timing due to recent roster cuts.
The situation centres around Tama Tonga, who was not featured on the April 25 show and had also gone unmentioned despite being involved in ongoing storylines. With WWE confirming a number of roster cuts on April 24, the lack of clarity led to speculation that he may have been among those released.
However, that does not appear to be the case. According to Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer, Tonga is currently sidelined with an undisclosed injury and is expected to return in the near future.
When Did Tama Tonga Last Compete For WWE?
Tama Tonga was last seen on the April 17 episode of WWE SmackDown, where he competed in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal ahead of WrestleMania 42 weekend. His absence the following week marked the first sign that something may have been off, though it was initially unclear whether it was injury-related.
He remains part of Solo Sikoa’s faction, which has been involved in a developing feud with R-Truth and Damian Priest, alongside tensions involving Jacob Fatu. Prior to his absence, plans had included a tag team title challenge with JC Mateo.
