If last week was any indication that things were going to shoot up to a volcanic point, tonight, Sami Zayn inadvertently added more predators seeking him for his title by mentioning Penta, Rey Fenix’s brother. Because of that, Fenix confronted Zayn about disrespecting family. But what Sami did was more like laying out who’s got it out for him, and Penta was a potential collision.
And speaking of collisions, Trick Williams. Two words. He came out here comparing Sami to Timon from The Lion King, and that he, Williams, is Simba. The more I envisioned it, the louder my laugh got. I didn’t mean to, though… but I did. Zayn believed that one day the fans will come to the same logical conclusion that Williams doesn’t have “it”.
Nevertheless, while Rey Fenix disappeared into the background, Trick demanded a title shot. A small scuffle resulted in Nick Aldis issuing a match where Sami Zayn and Johnny Gargano will face Trick Williams and Rey Fenix later.
Chelsea Green and Roxanne Perez were fighting for their lives during that WWE Women’s Championship bout that I thought they were evenly matched. Perez used the exposed steel to stomp on Green’s arm that I winced in the process. At some point, Raquel Rodriguez came out to shove Chelsea off the top as the official was paying attention to Roxanne, but that little cheap execution failed. Iyo Sky came to help and slightly fumbled, but Green was about to retain with Unprettyher.
Following the match, Liv Morgan materialized out of nowhere to begin pounding against Green with Rodriguez’ assistance. They might be facing each other at Crown Jewel, so naturally, this was inevitable. Sky had spirit, yet with Judgment Day here on mass, it was quite the unbalanced tumble. Tiffany Stratton made the unfair pursuit falter when she nearly cashed in her briefcase if Perez and Rodriguez hadn’t saved Morgan.
This was Giulia’s first Street Fight and with Blake Monroe as her opponent. While searching under the ring, Monroe came behind Giulia. Luckily, Giulia shoved Blake into a setup of chairs on the main floor. The brawling shifted as Monroe dragged Giulia backstage and sprayed her with hairspray before being particularly prideful of her appearance. Giulia made her pay by pushing her head first into a mirror as it exploded. That superplex onto the pile of chairs wobbled Giulia as Blake hit the Neutralizer to win the match.
Okay, for other fans, they’re pissed that Michin and B-Fab own the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships off Paxley and Bliss, but I’m proud of them. I could tell that they were waiting for this, especially Michin. Her expression told me as much since she got here. So whatever people feel the need to be angry at them about, re-check your facts.
This next segment was a doozy! Kevin Owens and CM Punk are welcomed by Nick Aldis to a backstage verbal exchange prior to their upcoming fight in New York. They were spitting so much that my eyes were the ones covered in mucus-like water. Disgustingly weird, but funny.
Anyway, Randy Orton actually congratulated Cody Rhodes for not only disfiguring Baron Corbin, but also cracking, finally. That Orton was the first to make that happen where others have pulled the short stick. I thought so, and Randy did too, that none of that matters if Rhodes doesn’t putt Orton. The trigger has been pulled on multiple people but not the intended target. Rhodes suggested a Last Man Standing match at Crown Jewel that Randy warned him that he asked for it.
Prior to a match that was meant to take place between the Tag Team Champions and Bakusai, something else happened instead. While Shinsuke Nakamura had the MFTs distracted, Kyoki stole Haku’s staff from behind them. That incited a brawl at the entranceway. The official match never took place, yet I don’t care. I love unsanctioned blood.
It was supposed to be Zayn & Gargano vs. Williams & Fenix, instead, Ricky Saints crashed the proceedings by targeting Rey. While Johnny and Sami had Trick cornered, Saints continued to drag Fenix for filth. Fortunately, his brother showed up. This turned into a 6-man Tag Team match. It was an intense mess that splattered all over the ring, regardless of that, Williams smacked Ricky with a choke slam finale.
