Since arriving on the blue brand, Trick WIlliams has been getting in everyone’s face, especially Sami Zayn, but Damien Priest theorized that Williams is afraid of him because that arrogant attitude hasn’t reached him at all, even when he gave Trick the opportunity to do so. When you really pay attention, blindsiding Zayn with a cheap shot instead of attacking Priest directly proved his point. This confrontation was waiting to erupt as it did with all three men enegaging in a brawl. A preview, according to commentary, for Saturday Night’s Main Event tomorrow.
Carmelo Hayes (c) vs. Ilja Dragonuv – US Championship match
Clearly, this match has been grueling for those involved. Hayes has just been crowned US Champion, and he had to face the same person he managed to take it from. Dragonuv was hammering down some heavy ass blows to Carmelo’s chest that it thunders across the entire stadium. After that, Ilja delivered a dead-lift superplex from the outside in.
I think Dragonuv lost his mind when he actually seemed to enjoy the agony he’s been put through, to which Hayes questions his sanity as they slug it out on the apron. Melo was looking for a suplex and turned it into a cutter as they both tumble onto the floor. Oof, Dragonuv didn’t allow Hayes the time to get back in the game as he kept stricking the champ’s face and chest.
Ilja had Carmelo on his shoulders with a death valley driver into the corner that Hayes amazingly revives from. Carmelo was in dire straights as Ilja climbed to the top hoping to end this, but The Miz came out of nowhere to shove him off, allowing Hayes to deliver the First 48 to retain his title.
Winner: Carmelo Hayes
During a match between Jade Cargill and Chelsea Green, Cargill womenhandled Green like absolute hell that it was hardly a task to complete, more like a formality because her attention was fixated on Jordynne Grace looming at ringside. She’s made her intentions clear by warning Cargill that she’s entered the Royal Rumble coming up to take that title from Jade. Grace tried to bring out a more impulsive side of to Jade, but to no avail.
The MFTs vs. The Wyatt Sicks – WWE Tag Team Championship match
You know what I realized? Every member of The Bloodline who’ve left thus far came into terms that their own blood are corruptive and venomous. Not everyone, of course, with the exception of the Usos and Jacob Fatu. That’s just a thought I had… What’s going to stop the current members from pulling a Fatu out of their ass? It’s only a matter of time. Lumis and Gacy defend their titles against Sikoa and Tama. Oof, right of the bat, Tama ploughed through Joe so fast the man didn’t have time to blink.
Solo promised his team gold, and it starts with this match. Once Dexter came into the fray, he delivered a Senton to Tama that laid him out flatly on the mat. Later on, Tonga was going for that Cutthroat maneuver, but Lumis ducked out of the way, which caused Tama to crach on his backside. Momentary fumbling occured when Solo attempted to rush in and help Tama only to be kicked to the main floor where Gacy and Lumis followed. Uncle Howdy was in the background imitating Tama’s hyena laugh.
Sikoa backed it up in the corner towards Dexter, who’s reeling a little bit. The crowd asked for Solo to do it one more time, but Lumis moved out of the way and performed a back suplex. Since that implimented a pause on energy, they tagged their respectable partners. Gacy and Tama got in there and threw hands made of iron. Tama was in trouble once again, Solo tried to help. and Gacy caught him. A double team from the Wyatt Sicks nearly retained their gold if Sikoa hadn’t broken things up. At least Solo was showing that he doesn’t wait to get his hands dirty unlike Roman Reigns. He actually jumps in to assist.
Sikoa was seen tossed outside, Gacy ventured after him and received a right hand to the face, then collided with the barricade. Lumis saw this and bulldozed Solo before rushing back inside the ring. Tonga Loa almost succeeded in tripping him, lukcily, Lumis didn’t let him have it. Regardless of that, Dexter didn’t manage to pin Tama for the three count. Erik Rowan saw the disturbance attempt and cleared house with a massive crossbody to Mateo and Loa. Talla Tonga was told to stay in the back, but now, he marched his way to the ring with Uncle Howdy’s lantern. He delivered a big boot to Rowan.
Things only got even more out of control from there when Howdy applied the Mandible Claw on Talla, Solo came with the Samoan Spike, used the lantern to rattle Lumis’ head, which opened the door for Tama to deliver a victorious Cutthroat.
Winners: The MFTs
As we continue with the evening, Drew McIntyre was live and prepped for his number one contender among the following: Sami Zayn, Trick Williams, Damian Preist, and Randy Orton. Roasting, mamming and applying psychological distress.
Nathan Frazer vs. Johnny Gargano
Gargano did well to deliver that uppercut to Frazer in the corner, but that’s all he did well. Once Nathan regained some momentum, he used it to whiplash Johnny with a drop kick. Johnny followed Frazer and missed, so Nathan capitalized by leaping off the ropes and forcibly landed on Gargano. Alas, Nathan was far too quick for Gargano to keep up. Every attack he initiated was immediately blocked by Frazer, who managed to stay one step ahead. A slingblade left Johnny feeling dizzy.
Up over the top did Nathan go as he squashed Johnny further down the main floor. Frazer was going for the Pheonix Splash, Gargano moved out of harm’s way and delivered a kick to the side of his opponent’s head. Back and forth between the two ensuded.
Unfortunately, that springboard from Nathan didn’t pay off since Johnny caught him with a kick to the stomach. And if things couldn’t get any weirder, Axiom grabbed the mask Candice LeRae took from him and blinded her with it over her head. That natually upset Gargano, who tried to remove the mask only for LeRae to mistake him for someone else and punch him. Johnny flew backwards and Nathan picked up the win with a roll up.
Winner: Nathan Frazer
Kit Wilson is still on his crusade to document and reveal the “toxic masculinity” overwhelmingly emerging in the locker room. Matt Cardona stepped up telling him that if he has beef with him to settle it in the ring. That simply reinforced Wilson’s point.
A Triple Treat Tag Team match was taking place with Nia Jax and Lash Legend, Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss, then finally Kiana James and Women’s US Champion Giulia. James was giving Flair the mugging of her life with all that puching and shouting, it was quite entertaining. Having to deal with four other women, Giulia and Kiana won the day. I don’t think it’s neccessarily bad for ambitious individuals to seek a second title belt, but not everyone can manage the weight of both. Giulia should focus on adding a stronger establishment over her current Championship.
Although the match between Priest and Williams was good, nothing was more reviting than Sami going bonkers after Trick shoved Damian into him near the commentary desk. Randy Orton’s sudden appearence laid out the playing field for their upcoming bout.
