The lineup for tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown has been confirmed, with CM Punk’s return and a Women’s Tag Team Championship match among the advertised attractions.
Tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown will air live from the Cajundome in Lafayette, Louisiana, on the USA Network in the United States and Netflix internationally.
CM Punk is scheduled to make his return to SmackDown just one night before WWE Money in the Bank in New Orleans.
The former Undisputed WWE Champion is one of six competitors in the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match on Saturday, alongside Kevin Owens, Penta, Bron Breakker, Trick Williams and Je’Von Evans.
Punk will look to win the Money in the Bank briefcase and earn a shot at a world championship after losing the Undisputed WWE Championship to Sami Zayn last month.
However, WWE has yet to confirm what Punk will have to say or do during his appearance on tonight’s show.
The WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship will also be defended tonight, with Fatal Influence putting their titles on the line against Tatum Paxley and Charlotte Flair.
Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid will represent Fatal Influence as they defend against the newly announced challengers, with Alexa Bliss in their corner.
Flair and Paxley will be looking to capture the Women’s Tag Team Championship, while Henley and Reid aim to leave Lafayette with their titles intact.
The championship encounter is the only match confirmed for tonight’s SmackDown, with additional matches and segments potentially being announced ahead of the broadcast.
