In what could be a overhaul of the WWE creative team, “Road Dogg’ Brian James has quit the company.
According to PWInsider, James has left his job as the creative lead of Smackdown.
James is famous for being Jeff Jarrett’s roadie and as a member of The New Age Outlaws and D-Generation X. With is partner Billy Gunn he won the WWE Tag Team Championships six times.
Since 2014, James has been part of the WWE creative team as a producer and as a coach. He was released by WWE in January 2022 but was rehired as Senior Vice President of Live Events in August 2022, replacing Jeff Jarrett. Last year, he become the co-head writer of Smackdown.
It was also revealed today that Alexandra Williams is now the Lead Writer of Monday Night Raw as well as a Vice President with the company. She was previously a writer and producer for WWE. She has been with the company for five years. Before that was had limited experience as an actress and a producer.
Her bio reads: “Alex broke into the entertainment industry as a ballet dancer and boxer. She transitioned into film/TV in Los Angeles, where she wrote, produced, and acted in various short films including, Awful Pretty, which won the Best Female Filmmaker award at IndieFest and went on to take six other first place awards in various film festivals around the world. While pursing a writing career in Los Angeles, Alex also worked in film and TV development for companies such as Wind Dancer Films, Silver Creek Falls Entertainment, Inc., Melrose Hill Entertainment, Tam O’Shanter Productions, Inc., Radiant Films International, and Jet Propulsion, LLC. Currently, Alex is the Vice President and Lead Writer for WWE’s Monday Night RAW on Netflix. Outside of WWE, Alex is a ballroom dance world champion.”
