WWE has revealed which matches will open the show for Night of Champions in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on June 27.
The King and Queen of the Ring tournaments will take centre stage early at WWE Night of Champions this Saturday. During last night’s Monday Night Raw, WWE announced that both tournament finals will take place during the first hour of the premium live event, which will be simulcast on ESPN in the United States. The full event will also stream on the ESPN Unlimited app domestically and on Netflix internationally.
The King of the Ring final will see Oba Femi face Jey Uso, while Iyo Sky and Liv Morgan will collide in the Queen of the Ring final. WWE has not announced which match will open the show.
The winners of both tournaments will earn world championship opportunities at SummerSlam.
Morgan enters the final as the reigning Women’s World Champion and could potentially leave SummerSlam as a double champion. If she defeats Sky and goes on to challenge WWE Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley, she would have the chance to add a second title to her collection. Should Sky emerge victorious, she would be able to choose whether to challenge Morgan or Ripley at SummerSlam.
There had been some concern surrounding Morgan’s status after she appeared to suffer a leg injury during a live event over the weekend. However, the champion appears ready to compete after a physical confrontation with Sky on Raw, with no apparent issues.
The King of the Ring winner will have the option to challenge either World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns or Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam.
Rhodes will have his hands full at Night of Champions, where he is scheduled to defend the Undisputed WWE Championship in a triple threat match against Gunther and Sami Zayn.
