The mystery masked attacker storyline took another turn on the February 9 episode of WWE Raw, as the hooded figure struck again on the road to Elimination Chamber.
The angle began during the men’s match at the Royal Rumble, when Bron Breakker was attacked during his entrance by a masked figure in a black hoodie. Breakker was then thrown into the ring and quickly eliminated by Oba Femi.
Reports later revealed that Breakker had undergone surgery for a serious hernia, with PWInsider noting the injury occurred during the previous week’s WWE Raw. He is now off the road with no timetable for a return, putting his reported WrestleMania 42 plans against Seth Rollins in doubt.
Since the Royal Rumble, speculation has surrounded the identity of the attacker. Names such as Rollins, Austin Theory, Logan Paul, and even Raw General Manager Adam Pearce have been discussed online. Paul has publicly denied being involved, while Theory was ruled out after becoming a victim of the attack himself.
The storyline escalated again during Raw’s main event triple threat qualifying match between Penta, LA Knight, and Theory. Members of The Vision, including Paul and Bronson Reed, interfered and helped set up Theory for a potential victory.
Before Theory could capitalise, the masked attacker appeared once more and delivered the same stomp used at the Royal Rumble. As Paul and Reed tried to pursue him, the figure escaped through the crowd, keeping his identity hidden.
Who Was The Man Behind The Mask At Royal Rumble And WWE Raw?
Recent reports suggest WWE wanted fans to suspect Rollins, with Grayson Waller reportedly wearing the mask during the Royal Rumble segment. However, the report also noted that this does not necessarily mean he will be revealed as the attacker in the storyline.
It is not currently known who was behind the mask on WWE Raw.
