WWE Raw on May 11 featured major fallout from WWE Backlash, with Roman Reigns and Jacob Fatu’s rivalry exploding in a chaotic closing segment that left the former champion laid out through the announce desk.
The show opened with Reigns confronting Adam Pearce backstage and demanding the World Heavyweight Championship. Reigns insisted he would personally deal with Jacob Fatu because he was the one who brought him into WWE.
In the opening match, Joe Hendry teamed with The Street Profits against The Vision’s Austin Theory, Bron Breakker and Logan Paul. The bout broke down late when Seth Rollins attacked Breakker at ringside, allowing Angelo Dawkins to roll up Theory for the victory. Tensions continued after the match when Breakker accidentally speared Montez Ford while attempting to hit Rollins.
Backstage, Adam Pearce announced Dominik Mysterio would defend the AAA Mega Championship later in the night against OG El Grande Americano.
Penta then confronted Ethan Page over his recent comments about the Intercontinental Championship. Page claimed pinning Penta in a tag match made him the Number One Contender and secured a title match for Saturday Night’s Main Event on May 23. Rusev interrupted to argue that he deserved the opportunity instead, prompting Je’Von Evans to join the confrontation and eventually earn a match against Rusev.
Evans later scored the biggest win of his WWE career, defeating Rusev with the OG Cutter after surviving the Machka Kick and several near falls.
A backstage segment also saw Asuka emotionally tell Iyo Sky she believed Sky was the one worthy of carrying her legacy forward before leaving the arena with a suitcase in hand.
Paige and Brie Bella later confronted Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez after being called out to the ring. Liv Morgan eventually joined the fight and helped Rodriguez and Perez leave standing tall while posing with championship gold.
Iyo Sky then defeated Sol Ruca in a highly competitive singles match after countering the Sol Snatcher into a pinfall. The two women delivered one of the most athletic matches of the night, with Sky surviving several close calls before securing the victory.
Oba Femi’s scheduled open challenge was cancelled by Adam Pearce because no one was willing to face him. Furious over the decision, Femi attacked Los Garza backstage and dragged Angel and Berto to ringside for an impromptu handicap match. Femi quickly dominated both men and pinned Berto following Fall From Grace.
Later in the night, Dominik Mysterio retained the AAA Mega Championship against OG El Grande Americano despite outside interference involving El Grande Americano, Rayo Americano and Bravo Americano. Dominik capitalised on the chaos by delivering a 619 and Frog Splash to secure the win.
The show ended with Roman Reigns’ Acknowledgement Ceremony descending into complete chaos. Jacob Fatu attacked Jey Uso backstage before brawling with Reigns inside and outside the ring. Reigns used a steel chair during the fight, but Fatu fought back with a superkick, the Tongan Death Grip and eventually a powerbomb through the announce desk. Officials rushed to ringside as Fatu stood tall holding the World Heavyweight Championship to close the show.
