The road to WrestleMania 42 took several major turns on WWE Raw in Houston, with returns, brawls and late changes reshaping the card just days before the two-night event.
CM Punk opened last night’s episode of WWE Raw with a passionate promo, targeting Roman Reigns and reflecting on their recent confrontation. Punk stood on the announce desk to deliver a scathing message, also taking aim at Pat McAfee and calling for WWE to lower ticket prices so more fans could attend WrestleMania.
The first match of the night saw Austin Theory defeat LA Knight via roll-up after outside interference involving IShowSpeed and The Vision. The result led to a WrestleMania 42 match being confirmed, with Knight and The Usos set to face The Vision and IShowSpeed.
Backstage tensions continued within Judgment Day as Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh ambushed Finn Balor before their scheduled match could begin, using a chair to leave him laid out.
A pre-taped segment saw Becky Lynch and AJ Lee come face-to-face, exchanging tense words ahead of WrestleMania. Lee told Lynch she would see her at the event, leaving Lynch frustrated.
In the women’s division, Bayley defeated Lash Legend in a chaotic match that featured interference from multiple competitors, including Nia Jax, Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss. Bayley secured the win with a crossbody after countering a top-rope attempt.
Seth Rollins then made his return after six months away, addressing his upcoming WrestleMania match with Gunther. The segment quickly turned physical as Gunther attacked from behind, sending Rollins crashing over the announce desk before officials separated the two.
In six-man tag team action, Je’Von Evans, Dragon Lee and Pentadefeated Los Americanos. After the match, Rey Mysterio made his return and announced he had secured a spot in the Intercontinental Championship ladder match at WrestleMania 42, expanding the bout.
Later in the night, Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley defeated B-Fab and Michin. After the match, Jade Cargill joined in a post-match attack, leaving Sky laid out despite Ripley’s attempt to intervene.
Backstage, Stephanie Vaquer attacked Liv Morgan inside Judgment Day’s clubhouse, adding further instability to the group.
The show closed with a contract signing involving Brock Lesnar and Oba Femi. The segment quickly broke down as Lesnar attacked, leading to a wild brawl that saw both men crash through a table. Despite security intervention, the chaos continued as WWE Raw went off the air.
