A developing situation outside the ring could have unexpected consequences for this week’s episode of WWE Raw, with severe travel disruption casting uncertainty over parts of the production.
As WWE Raw is set to take place at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, tonight, weather-related delays are already causing issues behind the scenes. While there is no official indication that the in-ring portion of the show will be altered, concerns have emerged regarding the logistical side of the broadcast.
Bryan Alvarez, of the Wrestling Observer, took to Twitter last night to alert subscribers to the situation, suggesting that the disruption is significant and primarily affecting crew members rather than talent.
“Massive weather delays affecting RAW, mostly on production side,” Alvarez wrote.
The delays appear to stem from ongoing disruption at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. According to FlightAware, the airport is currently experiencing cancellations and delays, with a number of flights either grounded or pushed back due to adverse weather conditions.
How Could These Disruptions Affect WWE Raw?
With WWE Raw’s production staff typically travelling ahead of live events to prepare staging, lighting, broadcast equipment and other technical elements, any significant delay could put pressure on the company’s pre-show timetable. At this stage, there has been no official word from WWE regarding any potential changes to the broadcast format.
Earlier on Sunday, Raw General Manager Adam Pearce revealed the updated line-up for the show, indicating that the company is still moving forward with its planned card. Whether the travel issues ultimately result in visible changes remains to be seen.
For now, the situation remains fluid as WWE monitors conditions ahead of Monday night’s live broadcast from Atlanta.
