The NXT Women’s North American Championship is set to be defended again following the unplanned title change on this week’s episode of WWE NXT.
According to spoilers from the latest WWE NXT tapings, a rematch between Thea Hail and Blake Monroe has been scheduled for NXT New Year’s Evil on January 6, 2026. The bout was reported by BodySlam.net and comes after Hail captured the title from Monroe in what was not an originally planned finish.
As previously reported, the championship changed hands on Tuesday’s episode of NXT due to a miscommunication in the ring. With creative plans already in place that assumed Hail would not win the title, and pre-taped content completed ahead of the holiday period, WWE was forced to make rapid adjustments behind the scenes.
The upcoming title defence at New Year’s Evil is expected to address the situation directly, with Monroe receiving an immediate opportunity to challenge for the championship she lost earlier this week.
What Else Happened On Tuesday’s WWE NXT?
The other matches which took place on Tuesday’s episode of NXT were Hank and Tank defeating OTM (Bronco Nima and Lucien Price), No Quarter Catch Crew (Kendal Grey and Wren Sinclair) defeating Fatal Influence (Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid), and Leon Slater defeating Dion Lennox, Joe Hendry, and Myles Borne in a Fatal Four Way Number One Contendership match, with Slater having his title match against Oba Femi set for New Year’s Evil.
