Instead of NXT Champion Joe Hendry’s win over Ricky Saints in Saturday’s main event, Vengeance Day’s highlight package ends with Tatum Paxley’s win over Izzi Dame. Subsequently, the new Women’s North American Champion opens the show in front of her Orlando stans. Dame interrupts with a career retrospective for Paxley, and the feud continues. The Culling blocks Paxley in, and Dame drops her with a powerbomb, raising the belt for a rematch.
In the locker room, Ricky Saints tries pepping up Ethan Page for their tag team match against Hendry and North American Champion Myles Borne tonight. “We’re gonna be two-time champions,” Saints say to Page, who obviously eyes the NXT Championship too.
Jasper Troy vs Eli Knight vs Sean Legacy
WWE LFG and WWE ID pave roads to NXT, and tonight’s opener is Exhibit A. Alphabet soup aside, Troy manhandles the opposition – “Just meat, man!” Booker T shouts. Knight and Legacy superkick Troy ringside, where Keanu Carver arrives to slam Booker T’s mentee through the announce desk. After break, Knight and Legacy trade high-paced offense until Troy rises up. He connects with a double Samoan Drop, Legacy recovers with Sliced Bread and a 450 Splash, and Knight follows with a picturesque moonsault. Knight and Legacy simultaneously cover Troy, and the referee counts to three. “Nobody won,” Booker T says. Both hands are raised. “Hell no!” Booker T says.
Winners: Eli Knight and Sean Legacy
Paxley asks Shiloh Hill if he’s seen The Culling, and he hints at messing with Izzi Dame’s car. Later, Dame finds her car wheelless, and Hill tells Interim General Manager Robert Stone he took them all.
Charlie Dempsey and Tavion Heights vs Lexis King and Uriah Connors
Backstage, Connors tells Birthright that his dad, Fit Finlay, made a call. “They’re on their way,” he says. The No Quarter Catch Crew reunion happens during break, and all of Birthright enter on King’s sliding throne. Dempsey and Connors showcase their grappling pedigree, and Heights adds his Olympic one. He comes back with effortless suplexes, spears Connors through the ropes and embraces Dempsey ringside. Out come William Regal and Finlay at the entranceway, leading Dempsey to suplex Heights. King capitalizes with the Coronation, and Dempsey accepts his Birthright.
Winner: Lexis King and Uriah Connors
Tony D’Angelo enters the ring after his rapid-fire brawl with Dion Lennox at Vengeance Day. Orlando’s murmurs seem to get to D’Angelo, but his goal of winning the NXT Championship is clear. He threatens to break Joe Hendry’s face rather than breaking bread and vows to become the next champion.
WrenQCC congratulates North American Champion Myles Borne, who asks where his partner Hendry is. Wren Sinclair says his name and relooks in the refrigerator, but Hendry comes around the corner. “Been there, done that,” Hendry says as Kendal Grey hand-eats the cake in the fridge.
Lainey Reid vs Sol Ruca
In the locker room, Lola Vice calls Ruca the next NXT Women’s Champion before her triple-threat match with Zaria and Jacy Jayne next week. Ruca has her warmup match, and distraction from Jayne lends Reid a double footstomp before break. Zaria watches the monitors during Ruca’s comeback, and the latter eventually hits a facebuster and Air Raid Crash for two. Reid blocks Sol Snatcher, but Ruca counters a running knee with her highlight move for victory.
Winner: Sol Ruca
Elio LeFleur tells Robert Stone he wants to defend the WWE Speed Championship against Sean Legacy and Eli Knight before The Vanity Project interrupts. The NXT Tag Team Champions call their shot at Stand & Deliver while Legacy and Knight eye the gold.
Interviewer Blake Howard calls Jaida Parker and Blake Monroe’s feud a “heated rivalry,” but the latter hasn’t caught feelings. Women’s North American Champion Tatum Paxley interrupts looking for Izzi Dame. “That, like other things, belongs to me,” Monroe tells the other Blake.
Wren Sinclair vs Thea Hail – Speed Tournament
Sinclair debuts a more fitting, poppy theme song, accompanied by common “Wren” chants. Hail hits an outside dive at the two-minute mark and reverses a roll-up with the Kimura Lock. But Sinclair counters with Final Wrench, advancing to the finals against Women’s Speed Champion Fallon Henley next week.
Winner: Wren Sinclair
Tag teams fill Robert Stone’s office, where the general manager announces a tournament leading to Stand & Deliver. The Culling, Sean Legacy and Eli Knight, Hank and Tank, Birthright, OTM and DarkState compete for a chance against Vanity Project. The latter two challengers erupt in a pull-apart brawl before break.
Jacy Jayne is mean to Blake Howard too, and Henley dismisses her new challenger Sinclair. WrenQCC appear like Joe Hendry, and Kendal Grey calls out Jayne at Stand & Deliver, assuming she defends next week.
Paxley finally finds Dame, and Stone announces a rematch for the Women’s North American Champion next week in a steel cage match. The Orlando Paxley fans aren’t fans of that.
Howard catches up with Stone, who previews next week’s lineup in Houston. Hank and Tank versus Birthright begins the tag team tournament, where OTM and DarkState are now disqualified. Stone turns down a Houston party invite from Vanity Project, who learn of their six-man tag team match next week against El Grande Americano and Los Americanos.
Vic Joseph takes over with a final Houston announcement: home-town hero Booker T appreciation night, brought by his three-year desk partner. “All day, you didn’t tell me this,” Booker T says in surprise. “Now don’t say I never did nothing for you,” Joseph responds.
Ethan Page and Ricky Saints vs Myles Borne and Joe Hendry
Frienemies Saints and Page tie the knot with matching red and white gear. Page calls for the North American Championship belt, and Saints deliberately overthrows, poking fun at Page from Vengeance Day. They beat up Borne through picture-in-picture, and Hendry breaks up the pin after Saints’ Revolution DDT. Saints hits a superplex, and Page lands a splash for a two-count.
Hendry finally receives the hot tag to “we believe” chants, and Saints asks for the NXT Championship belt. The referee grabs it this time, and Saints and Page argue over a blind tag. While the referee deals with Borne, Page hits Twisted Grin on the belt, pinning the NXT Champion. “All Ego” grins at Borne, getting his lick back, and side-eyes Saints, ready to turn his back.
Winners: Ethan Page and Ricky Saints
