On a card originally scheduled for Atlanta, Georgia, relocated back to the Performance Center over venue concerns, NXT lined up four championship matches. From the podium, Interim General Manager Robert Stone opened tonight’s show, previewing matches like Sol Ruca versus Jacy Jayne for the NXT Women’s Championship and Myles Borne vs Ethan Page for the North American Championship.
The Vanity Project vs DarkState (c) – NXT Tag Team Championships
Big Osirsis Griffin doesn’t budge against the challengers, who are the defacto heels in the scenario. Orlando sides with DarkState when Griffin lawn-darts Brad Baylor into his partner’s feet and through the ropes. After break, Vanity Project takes control over Saquon Shugars until Griffin gets the hot tag. Shugars connects with an assisted missile dropkick, but Evolve Champion Jackson Drake puts Baylor’s foot on the ropes. While officials separate Drake and the rest of DarkState, Tony D’Angelo appears and slams Shugars into the apron. He rolls Baylor into the pin, making Vanity Project the new NXT Tag Team Champions. Drake, Baylor and Ricky Smokes have gone “from prospects to champions,” as Vic Joseph comments, in quick fashion.
Winners: The Vanity Project
Backstage, Myles Borne reflects on his North American Championship match against Ethan Page. “I’ll no longer be known as [just] the deaf kid,” he says in an interview, confident in his chances in tonight’s main event.
Keanu Carver vs Sean Legacy
Legacy loses home-state advantage in the move from Atlanta, although it wouldn’t have helped against Carver anyway. A replay shows Carver ramming Legacy into the ringside podium three weeks ago. After tossing his opponent around, he tries spearing Legacy again, but the latter counters. Legacy comes back with a 450 Splash, but Carver hits a pounce and powerslam for victory.
Winner: Keanu Carver
In the women’s locker room, Kendal Grey hypes up Wren Sinclair for her Speed tournament match next week. Kehlani Jordan boasts tapping out Lola Vice, who shuts her up with a big boot before a pull-apart.
Jasper Troy (c) vs Eli Knight vs Elio LeFleur – Speed Championship
Last week, Robert Stone extended tonight’s triple-threat match to a seven-minute time limit. Knight and LeFleur trade quick offense, and the latter hits a ringside moonsault before Troy comes back. He powerbombs LeFleur into Knight and chokeslams him for a two-count. Knight hits an incredible springboard leg drop and breaks his alliance with LeFleur, who gets him back with an apron DDT. LeFleur lands a 450 Splash on Troy at the two-minute mark and escapes the Black Hole Slam. Knight follows with a moonsault onto Troy, but LeFleur steals the pin for victory.
Winner: Elio LeFleur
In the trainer’s room, Ricky Saints chats about his debut yesterday on The CW’s “Wild Cards” to Ethan Page. While getting his ankle taped, Page gets kudos from new NXT Tag Team Champions The Vanity Project for his mentorship. “We’re gonna make sure that you remain the longest reigning North American Champion ever!” Saints tells Page.
A package chronicles Joe Hendry’s journey to the NXT Championship. In Scotland, he earned a black belt in judo, completed a master’s degree in business and marketing and toured as a musician. At 24, he decided to pursue professional wrestling and picked up amateur wrestling – winning two gold medals. His indie run included matches with Cody Rhodes, Kurt Angle and Drew McIntyre – but his viral entrance theme and physical transformation in TNA became his final push into WWE.
After break, the next NXT Origins package highlights alumni Damian Priest. He credits NXT for teaching him composure and WWE media presence after years training on the independent circuit.
Lola Vice cuts off DarkState from storming into Robert Stone’s office. Vice demands an NXT Underground match against Kehlani Jordan, and the general manager accepts for Vengeance Day.
Sol Ruca vs Jacy Jayne (c) – NXT Women’s Championship
With the surfer theme that got her here, Ruca arrives alongside Zaria for a long-awaited NXT Women’s Championship match. Mike Rome completes championship introductions, and Zaria spears Ruca. She follows with an F5, but Ruca still agrees to compete. Jayne capitalizes with Rolling Encore for victory to a stunned and standing Orlando. Zaria F5s her former friend onto the announce desk, saying, “Snatch that, Sol – b—.”
Winner: Jacy Jayne
Tatum Paxley speaks from the stands about searching for acceptance, learning to find it in the audience. At Vengeance Day, against Izzi Dame for the Women’s North American Championship, she plans to win the title for Orlando. “You will never be enough,” Dame says, charging from the other side.
Blake Monroe vs Thea Hail – Speed Tournament
Monroe interrupts the pull-apart brawl, and Hail jumpstarts against her rival. As the referee restrains Hail from heading ringside, Jaida Parker hits Hipnotic on Monroe. Hail capitalizes and pins Monroe a second time, advancing through the tournament.
Winner: Thea Hail
Joe Hendry’s chronicle continues, reflecting on getting his theme song to number one on iTunes’ UK charts. His NXT debut became the most viewed wrestling video on X that year, and three weeks ago, he finally won the NXT Championship.
Kale Dixon vs Uriah Connors
Chase University implodes, again. Dixon is accompanied by Andre Chase, and Connors is backed by Lexis King, Stacks and TNA Knockouts Champion Arianna Grace. “It’s called woke, he woke up,” Booker T says about Connors leaving Chase U. Charlie Dempsey and Tavion Heights watch the monitors as the former classmates trade reversals. Dixon hits the Fosbury Flop and a twisting splash for two, but Connors gets the boots up on a moonsault attempt. He follows with a Shining Wizard for victory, gloating with the rest of Birthright.
Winner: Uriah Connors
Zaria cuts off Fatal Influence and says they owe her. She demands an NXT Women’s Championship match next week and threatens to give Jacy Jayne the same beating Sol Ruca took.
The Vanity Project tell Ricky Saints they had a watch party for his “Wild Cards” debut. In response to Joe Hendry’s chronicle, Saints announces his own musical experience next week. “Go farm that aura,” Jackson Drake says. A dirtied Shiloh Hill, Hank Walker and Tank Ledger interrupt, starting a brawl after stealing Brad Baylor’s steering wheel.
Robert Stone previews next week’s card: Jacy Jayne vs Zaria for the NXT Women’s Championship, Shiloh Hill and Hank and Tank vs The Vanity Project, and “An Absolute Experience” from Ricky Saints. Izzi Dame demands to have her Vengeance Day match with Tatum Paxley canceled, but Stone isn’t buying it.
Ethan Page (c) vs Myles Borne – North American Championship
A hype package highlights Page’s record-breaking North American Championship reign, intertwined with his in-vain mentorship of Borne. Tonight, Page can break another record: longest North American Championship reign. However, Borne’s new tron and “never break” catchphrase serves as the antithesis. Borne points out Page’s injured ankle he Pillmanized, using it to take control. Page connects with Ego’s Edge on the announce desk and dominates through picture-in-picture. The champion eventually hits a second Ego’s Edge for a two-count and a superplex for another. They trade strikes until Page targets the throat, but Borne comes back with Borne Again.
The Vanity Project runs out, and Jackson Drake strikes Borne with the Evolve Championship belt. The challenger kicks out before Shiloh Hill, Hank and Tank battle with them behind the entranceway. Ricky Saints attempts to interfere as NXT Champion Joe Hendry evens the odds. Borne sends Page into an exposed top turnbuckle, hitting one last Borne Again to win the title. He celebrates with his mother at ringside, officially the new North American Champion.
Winner: Myles Borne
