The results for last night’s episode of WWE NXT are in.
New WWE NXT Tag Team Champions were crowned, Tony D’Angelo reshaped the NXT Championship picture, and Kendal Grey retained the NXT Women’s Championship in a hard-fought Underground Match on this week’s episode of WWE NXT.
The show opened with tag team action as Jaida Parker and Thea Hail defeated Karmen Petrovic and Nikkita Lyons. After Parker neutralised outside interference from Nattie, Hail sealed the victory with a top-rope senton. The celebrations were short-lived as Nattie, Lyons and Petrovic attacked after the bell, but miscommunication between the trio allowed Parker and Hail to fight them off.
Tony D’Angelo then addressed Grayson Waller‘s comments from the previous week, accusing him of disrespecting both NXT and its locker room. Cruz Montana also entered the discussion, leading D’Angelo to announce that Waller and Montana will meet next week in a Number One Contender’s Match, with the winner earning an opportunity to challenge for the NXT Championship.
Wren Sinclair successfully retained the WWE Women’s Speed Championship after surviving the five-minute time limit against Zaria. Sinclair escaped numerous power attacks before the clock expired while she had the challenger trapped in a reverse chicken wing. Zaria responded by delivering an F5 to the champion after the match.
Backstage, Kelani Jordan praised Waller for his recent comments about the NXT roster, while tensions between Mason Rook and Kam Hendrix nearly boiled over into a fight before officials stepped in.
A major title change followed as Myles Borne and Tavion Heights defeated Vanity Project to become the new WWE NXT Tag Team Champions. After overcoming interference from Jackson Drake and Myka Lockwood, Heights flattened Brad Baylor with a belly-to-belly suplex before securing the decisive pinfall to end Vanity Project’s reign.
Keanu Carver continued his impressive run by defeating EK Prosper in a competitive singles contest. Prosper pushed Carver to the limit with a Tornado DDT, Swanton Bomb and Shining Wizard, but Carver countered a pinning attempt to steal the victory.
NXT also paid tribute to the late Dory Funk Jr. before Robert Stone was shown backstage discussing the possibility of signing a new free agent, while Cruz Montana and Tristan Angels shared a tense encounter ahead of next week’s show.
In the main event, Kendal Grey retained the NXT Women’s Championship by defeating Lola Vice in an Underground Match. Grey battled through a gruesome ear injury that required medical attention before refusing to stop the contest. Vice appeared close to victory on several occasions, but after surviving a chaotic closing stretch that included the referee being accidentally taken out, Grey locked in an armbar to force Vice to submit.
Following the match, Grey showed respect to her challenger by raising Vice’s arm as both women received a standing ovation to close another eventful edition of WWE NXT.
