A WWE Hall of Famer is set to return at Saturday Night’s Main Event for John Cena‘s final match.
Jesse “The Body” Ventura is set to return to WWE television this Saturday at Saturday Night’s Main Event in Washington, D.C., according to WrestleVotes. The WWE Hall of Famer’s comeback is notable given his absence from the November 1 episode, which followed reports that his one-year contract had expired.
Ventura’s status with the company was said to have been affected by an on-air moment during the May 24 broadcast, when he criticised the finish of Drew McIntyre vs Damian Priest inside a steel cage. As Priest won by walking out through the door, Ventura reacted live with “What kind of BS is that?” WWE later removed the remark from the official YouTube upload.
Despite the controversy, Ventura is being brought back for one of WWE’s biggest events of the year. Saturday Night’s Main Event 42 will feature John Cena’s retirement match against Gunther, who earned the opportunity by winning the Last Time Is Now tournament.
The event airs on December 13 at 8 p.m. ET in the United States and on YouTube for international audiences, live from the Capital One Arena.
