A WWE Hall of Fame legend believes one of WWE’s rising stars, Trick Williams, has the kind of presence that can make even retired wrestlers feel the itch to compete again.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry admitted that watching Trick Williams perform has sparked feelings he has not had in years.
“It’s been a long time since I’ve felt like coming back to wrestling,” Henry said. “This dude walking to the ring gets me fired up. He makes me want to wrestle again. That’s the effect that Trick had on me.”
Henry credited Williams’ overall presentation for that reaction, pointing to his confidence and presence as major factors.
“It’s the energy and the smugness,” Henry explained. “Like, the dude’s got it. He talks the talk, he walks the walk, he’s got the look.”
Co-host Jonathan Coachman added that Williams reminded him of an early version of The Rock, a comparison Henry agreed with.
Trick Williams On The WWE Main Roster
Trick Williams has been positioned strongly since joining the main roster full-time, immediately stepping into high-profile programmes on WWE SmackDown. He defeated Rey Fenix on the January 9 episode from Berlin, beat Matt Cardona to qualify for the four-way match at Saturday Night’s Main Event on the January 16 London show, and later headlined the January 23 broadcast from Montreal against Damian Priest, a bout that ended in a no-contest.
Williams was a standout in WWE’s developmental brand, NXT, joining the company in 2021 and quickly becoming one of the top stars in the developmental system. Williams captured the NXT North American Title once and the NXT Championship twice before joining the main roster.
