The wrestling world is still reacting to one of the most unusual debuts in recent WWE memory, Danhausen emerging from the mystery box at Elimination Chamber 2026, and one WWE Hall of Famer believes the character could quickly become a major success if the company plays its cards right.
Danhausen made his WWE debut during Elimination Chamber 2026 in Chicago, emerging from a mysterious crate in a moment that immediately sparked conversation among fans. The former AEW star’s blend of comedy and supernatural elements has already made him one of the more unique personalities on the WWE roster.
Speaking on an episode of his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T shared his thoughts on the arrival of the eccentric character and how he believes WWE could benefit from his presence. While some fans have questioned how Danhausen’s unusual persona will translate to WWE’s main roster, Booker T pointed to the strong marketing potential behind the character.
“I’m not going to try to sit and speculate or anything like that, other than you know, we definitely know he could be used on AAA shows,” Booker T said. “Those guys, they got a lot of gimmicks over there. So he’ll fit right in to the AAA mold. How far are you going to go on the main roster? And you know, who you got to match him up with? What are we really trying to get out of the Danhausen character? I know it definitely could become a merchandising machine.”
The six-time World Champion also addressed the criticism sometimes directed at comedic characters in professional wrestling. For Booker T, those types of personalities are essential to the industry.
“Wrestling is wrestling,” Booker T said. “And when you take Danhausen characters and funny stuff out of professional wrestling, you kind of like lose the real meaning of what wrestling truly is in my book. Because wrestling is to be funny sometimes, sometimes it’s serious. You got so many different elements. So I’m not gonna pre-conceive what we’re trying to get out of Danhausen. I’m gonna sit back and watch and let this thing play out.”
Danhausen’s WWE Role Following Elimination Chamber Debut
Danhausen’s presence was felt quickly after his debut.
On the March 2 episode of Monday Night Raw, the new arrival crossed paths backstage with Dominik Mysterio. During the brief encounter, Danhausen placed what he called a “curse” on the Intercontinental Champion.
Later that same night, Mysterio lost the Intercontinental Championship to Penta, leading many fans online to jokingly credit Danhausen’s curse for the unexpected title change.
With the character already generating attention across WWE programming, the coming weeks could reveal how prominently Danhausen will be featured as the company continues to build toward its next major events.
