A WWE Hall of Famer has spoken positively about Ronda Rousey‘s AEW debut at Revolution.
Bully Ray has reacted to Ronda Rousey’s AEW appearance, highlighting the potential impact of her involvement. Rousey returned to professional wrestling at AEW Revolution, confronting Toni Storm following her match. Speaking on Busted Open, Ray pointed to Rousey’s name value and background as key factors in drawing attention.
“Whether you love the fact that Ronda is there, whether you hate the fact that Ronda is there, it’s Ronda Rousey,” Ray said. “She’s got name value, she’s got credibility… everybody knows her… People will tune in out of curiosity.”
Rousey hasn’t appeared on TV in a wrestling ring since the November 23, 2023, episode of ROH on HonorClub, which was taped on November 17, 2023, where she teamed with Marina Shafir to defeat Athena and Billie Starkz.
Prior to her ROH debut, Rousey last wrestled on TV for WWE at SummerSlam 2023 on August 5, where she lost to fellow MMA star and her friend Shayna Baszler in what would be her final WWE match as she announced her departure from the company shortly after.
Bully Ray Suggest Possible AEW Storyline For Ronda Rousey
Bully Ray also suggested a possible storyline direction, involving Rousey’s real-life connection to Marina Shafir and Jon Moxley.
“What is Ronda Rousey going to do in an AEW ring? Will Ronda Rousey beat the sh*t out of her best friend Marina Shafir, just to take the side of Jon Moxley? I don’t know, I’m just throwing that out there.”
Rousey’s return comes ahead of her upcoming MMA bout against Gina Carano, scheduled for May.
