Barry Windham has confirmed that his former tag team partner, wrestling legend Mike Rotunda, is in hospice care.
In an interview with Bill Apter on the 1WrestlingVideo YouTube channel, which was recorded on October 25, Windham said:
“It’s kind of tough right now. You know, Mike is in hospice right now. So, anyway, that family — I love that family but it’s so tragic,” he told Bill Apter in an interview.
Windham also asked fans to keep him in their thoughts.
“Well, it’s been a great ride,” Windham said. “And I would like for you all to pray for Mike.”
The Windhams and Rotundas are more than just colleagues; they are family. Rotunda, also known as IRS in WWE, married Barry’s sister, Stephanie.
Mike Rotunda’s WWE History
In the WWE, he won the WWF Tag Team Championship five times, twice with Barry Windham as The US Express and three times with Ted DiBiase as part of Money Incorporated. He and Barry were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2024.
In the NWA, he also flourished as a tag team wrestler, winning the NWA World Tag Team Championship with Steve Williams as part of the Varsity Club faction. He also held the NWA World Television Championship three times, beating Bad Leroy Brown, Nikita Koloff and Rick Steiner for the title.
Rotunda is the father of three children, daughter Mika and sons Windham and Taylor, who also became professional wrestlers. Windham, also known as Bray Wyatt, passed away in 2023. Taylor is currently working in WWE as Bo Dallas, Uncle Howdy, as part of the Wyatt Sicks stable.
