WWE confirmed on Raw that a Hall of Famer picked up an injury during the 2026 Royal Rumble event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Rey Mysterio did not appear on WWE Raw, with commentator Michael Cole stating that Mysterio suffered injuries during the Royal Rumble. Mysterio entered the Rumble at number four and lasted under three minutes before being eliminated by Oba Femi. His absence raised further concern after he was helped to the back following a match with Austin Theory on Raw last week, although he was still able to travel to Saudi Arabia to compete in the Rumble.
It remains unclear whether Mysterio is legitimately injured or if the explanation was used to account for his absence and why he was unable to assist Penta during his match with Bronson Reed, which also involved Logan Paul at ringside.
When Was Rey Mysterio’s Last WWE Injury?
Rey Mysterio last suffered an injury whilst competing for WWE on the April 18, 2025, episode of SmackDown, tearing his groin and rupturing an eardrum during a six-man tag match where he teamed with Dragon Lee and Rey Fenix to take on the team of Brutus Creed, Chad Gable, and Julius Creed.
Mysterio was scheduled to compete at WrestleMania 41 to take on El Grande Americano on Night One, but was replaced by Fenix. Mysterio underwent surgery to repair his injuries and was out of action until November 17, when he returned to Raw to team with Sheamus and John Cena to defeat The Judgment Day’s Dominik Mysterio, Finn Balor, and JD McDonagh.
