A WWE Hall of Famer believes WWE has a potential generational star in Oba Femi, but says the company must fully commit to building him as an unstoppable force.
Speaking on 83 Weeks, former WCW executive Eric Bischoff praised the reigning King of the Ring, comparing him to dominant attractions such as Goldberg and Brock Lesnar.
Bischoff described Oba Femi as the ideal modern wrestling star, citing his size, presence and versatility as reasons WWE should make him one of the company’s top attractions.
“He’s a prototype. Could you ask AI to kick out anything that looks more perfect as a professional wrestling character than Oba Femi or Brock Lesnar?” Bischoff said. He went on to describe Femi as “larger than life, unbeatable looking, ferocious, great baby face, scary heel.”
Bischoff believes performers like Femi are most effective when they are presented as dominant competitors with a clear direction, warning against placing them in the middle of the card.
“Goldberg (and) Oba, and just give him a mission, and have him go accomplish the s**t out of it, whatever it is, just eat through people till you’ve got him built up,” Bischoff said. “There’s very little in between with a guy like that.”
According to Bischoff, failing to capitalise on Femi’s potential could quickly cause fans to lose interest.
“If you don’t put him on the path, the audience is like, yeah, there’s nothing to get. He’s big, big deal,” he said. “You put him on a rocket.”
Eric Bischoff Believes WWE Should Push Oba Femi Aggressively
Eric Bischoff added that he would rather push Oba Femi aggressively than take a slower approach, arguing that modern wrestling audiences have little patience for waiting for a star to reach the top.
“I have a feeling I’d start building the hell out of them, because people have very short attention spans.”
Femi recently added another major accolade to his growing resume by winning the 2026 King of the Ring tournament, further strengthening his position as one of WWE’s fastest-rising stars.
