A WWE Hall of Famer has argued that CM Punk is slowing down and should lose the World Heavyweight Championship to Bron Breakker.
On January 5th at Saturday Night’s Main Event, CM Punk will put the World Heavyweight Title on the line against Bron Breakker in his first defence since winning the gold two months ago.
Ahead of the match, on the December 22nd edition of Raw, Punk teamed up with Rey Mysterio to take on Breakker’s allies in The Vision, Austin Theory and Bronson Reed. The bout saw Theory get the win for his team when he hit Mysterio with the Stomp for the pinfall victory.
While discussing the bout on his Kliq This podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash was highly critical of Punk, in part because he disagreed with the Straight Edge Superstar’s wardrobe choices for the match.
“I watched (CM) Punk in the main event of that match last Monday. Number one, if you’re the Heavyweight Champion of the WWE and you wrestle in a t-shirt? Ouch.
Nash then noted that Punk’s punches were slow and said he thinks it’s already time for Bron Breakker to take the gold from him.
“Number two, his punches looked really slow, he looked slow. I think he’s done. I think Bron (Breakker) should beat him.”
CM Punk Has No Plans To Retire Anytime Soon
While Kevin Nash thinks he’s lost a step in the ring, CM Punk recently claimed he is “here to stay.” The star had been asked if he wanted to have a similar send-off to John Cena when he made the comments. He explained that, while he knows he has limited time left in the ring, he has no plans to go anywhere anytime soon, adding that he’s “glad” if that upsets people.
