WWE Hall of Famer D-Von Dudley has confessed to using steroids in the past.
Dudley revealed in a recent interview with DJ Vlad that it was during his time at TNA and he has no one to blame for any fallout than himself.
“I don’t blame TNA. I blame myself. I indulged in that stuff. Nobody put a gun to my head and forced me,” he said claiming he had gained weight and that made it difficult to work, especially the pressure on his knees at the time.
He eventually did quit.
“I look in the mirror and tell myself, ‘D-Von, this isn’t what you want. You want to be there for your kids. You want to watch your sons walk down the aisle one day. You want to play with your grandkids. It’s time to cut this s–t out right now!’” he said.
Dudley explained that anyone who did or is taking such drugs needs to take responsibility and accountability for their own choices.
“If you allow yourself to do it you can’t blame the promoter. He didn’t force you to take it. Vince (McMahon) never told me I had to use steroids. He never told me I had to party and go out. If I did go out and party, I did it on my own. If you weren’t the size you weren’t going to get pushed. That’s something you have to put in perspective. How bad do you want it? Are you willing to go that route to use steroids? The choice is up to you,” he said.
