A WWE Hall of Famer has addressed concerns about WrestleMania 42 ticket sales, pushing back against the idea that the company is in panic mode despite reports of slower-than-expected ticket sales.
Speaking on his My World podcast, WWE Hall of Famer and AEW star Jeff Jarrett reacted to recent reports suggesting WWE has sold around 35,000 tickets per night for WrestleMania 42, a notable drop from last year’s figures at the same venue. Jarrett was clear that he does not believe the company is worried.
“I don’t use the word panic at all,” Jarrett said. “Netflix money, guaranteed. SmackDown on USA money, guaranteed. Saudi money, guaranteed. Their Fanatics deal, they print money.”
Jarrett acknowledged that WWE’s recent offer of ticket discounts more than a month before the event signals a deliberate shift in approach, but stopped short of calling it desperation.
“You don’t discount tickets,” he said. “But I get it. They know the data better than anybody. I don’t think there’s a bit of panic, but is there a new strategy implemented immediately that they probably didn’t have in their plan? Maybe their backup emergency plan?”
How Many Tickets Does Jeff Jarrett Believe WWE Will Sell For WrestleMania 42?
Despite the current sales pace, Jeff Jarrett predicted the company could still move around 50,000 tickets per night by the time WrestleMania 42 arrives. He also noted WWE’s strong financial footing from its media rights and partnership deals, suggesting the overall bottom line would not be significantly affected by fluctuations in live gate.
Reports have also indicated that WWE has restricted Las Vegas establishments from hosting viewing parties during WrestleMania weekend to maximise in-person attendance.
