A new WWE Women’s ID Champion was crowned yesterday at an independent show.
At the Beyond Wrestling Wrestling Open RI event in Cranston, Rhode Island, yesterday, Laynie Luck won a qualifying six-way match to open the show and then won the six-way elimination match in the main event to capture the WWE Women’s ID Title.
Not only did Luck capture the title, but she also earned herself a WWE ID contract. The former champion, Kylie Rae, vacated the title after announcing her pregnancy back in September. It was also reported in October that her ID contract would not be renewed after it expired.
Luck is a 33-year-old wrestler from Kansas City, Kansas, who started her career in 2015, working for various promotions in the West South Central and West North Central regions. She has held seven different titles with other promotions, and as well as being the WWE Women’s ID Champion, she is also the Glory Pro Women’s World Crown Champion.
Who Is Currently Signed To WWE ID?
Currently, there are 16 wrestlers signed to WWE ID, with names such as Laynie Luck, Aaron Rourke, Brad Baylor, Zoe Sager, Eli Knight, and Jackson Drake. The ID program was started in October 2024 and is used to have independent wrestlers signed to the company while still performing and developing on the independent scene.
The idea is for the company to keep an eye on the development of their ID wrestlers and to eventually call them up to NXT or the main roster.
