WWE reportedly faced internal pushback over the recent Gingerbread Man storyline involving Sami Zayn and Trick Williams on WWE SmackDown, with WrestleVotes Radio via Fightful Select reporting that some creative team members viewed the angle as “hokey and archaic.” The storyline ended with Zayn appearing to turn heel by “killing” the character on television, although Zayn recently said he does not believe he has fully turned heel and described the character shift as an attempt to do something different.

AEW Double or Nothing is reportedly on track for a near sellout ahead of the May 24 show at Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York. According to WrestleTix, around 12,800 tickets have already been sold from the current 13,680-seat setup, leaving fewer than 900 tickets available. Additional sections have recently been opened due to demand, and the event has already comfortably surpassed last year’s reported attendance figure of 8,200 tickets sold for Double or Nothing in Arizona.
Independent wrestler Braxx has reportedly passed away after being shot in South Philadelphia. Braxx competed for promotions including H2O Wrestling and X Brand Wrestling, with fellow wrestler Matt Tremont paying tribute to him on social media and remembering him as a close friend and respected figure within the deathmatch wrestling scene.
