WWE is reportedly considering a major rematch between CM Punk and Cody Rhodes for WrestleMania 43, with the potential encounter being discussed as one of the event’s main events.
According to WrestleVotes on Fightful Select, a source has indicated that WWE could revisit the rivalry between CM Punk and Cody Rhodes when WrestleMania heads to Saudi Arabia in April 2027. The two stars last faced each other at SummerSlam 2026, where Punk successfully defended the Undisputed WWE Championship against Rhodes.
That encounter marked their first singles match in 18 years, making it one of the most anticipated bouts on the SummerSlam card. Although nothing has been confirmed, the report suggests WWE could position another meeting between the two as a headline attraction at WrestleMania 43.
WWE WrestleMania 43 Plans Could Also Feature Roman Reigns And Oba Femi
Another potential main event for WrestleMania 43 is a World Heavyweight Championship clash between Roman Reigns and Oba Femi. The match has been widely discussed as a possible opportunity for Reigns to pass the torch to Femi, although WWE has yet to officially announce the encounter.
Meanwhile, WrestleVotes also reported that WWE is hopeful Rhea Ripley will be medically cleared to compete at WrestleMania 43. Ripley has been sidelined since June after suffering a torn meniscus, an injury that brought her second reign as WWE Women’s Champion to an abrupt end.
According to the report, Ripley would be a “heavy focus” of WWE’s plans for the women’s division if she is healthy enough to participate. WrestleMania 43 is scheduled to take place in Saudi Arabia in April 2027, marking the first time WWE’s biggest annual event will be held there. Official dates for the event have not yet been announced, and WWE has not confirmed any matches for the show.
