A steel cage match has been added to WWE Night of Champions.
During Monday’s episode of Raw, Seth Rollins appeared in a pre-taped vignette and challenged Bron Breakker to one final showdown at the premium live event in Saudi Arabia on June 27. Rollins said their rivalry had gone on long enough and insisted the only way to settle things was inside a steel cage.
“At Night of Champions, Bron Breakker, Seth Rollins, steel cage,” Rollins declared.
The rivalry between the two dates back to WrestleMania 42 Night One, when Breakker returned and cost Rollins his match against Gunther. Breakker later defeated Rollins at Backlash before Rollins evened the score with a victory on Raw. However, the issue between the two competitors did not end there.
Breakker and The Vision continued targeting Rollins in the weeks that followed, most notably interfering in his opening-round King of the Ring tournament match. The distraction allowed Je’Von Evans to score the upset victory, eliminating Rollins from the tournament.
With both men holding a victory over the other, WWE has now scheduled the deciding chapter of the feud for Night of Champions.
WWE Confirms First Hour Of Night Of Champions Will Air Free On ESPN
Raw also featured an announcement regarding the event’s broadcast plans. WWE confirmed that the first hour of Night of Champions will air on ESPN, continuing a format introduced at WrestleMania 42.
Several matches are already confirmed for the show, including the King and Queen of the Ring finals. Iyo Sky has secured her place in the Queen of the Ring final and will face the winner of the Charlotte Flair versus Liv Morgan match, while the King of the Ring final will feature Oba Femi against either Jey Uso or Je’Von Evans.
Trick Williams is also scheduled to defend the United States Championship against either Carmelo Hayes or Ricky Saints.
