The WWE has edited the replay of the Night of Champions broadcast on Netflix.
The edits being noticed and criticized the most are the ones done to the steel cage match between Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker.
Just before the conclusion of the match, Breakker was busted open the hard way and started bleeding from the side of his head.
The version on Netflix not only blurs Breakker’s entire head but also is heavily edited to cut away from him or show another angle of the action in which he is not visibly bleeding.
A “holy s–t!” chant from the audience when Rollins sent Breakker through a table has been replaced with a “This is awesome!” chant instead.
WWE broadcasts on Netflix are currently rated TV-PG (Violence, Language) in Canada and the United States.
Under those ratings there is:
- Moderate violence, fights, bloodless combat, some injuries.
- Infrequent mild to moderate profanity (e.g. “hell,” “damn”; occasional stronger words depending on context)
- Mild sexual references, kissing, limited suggestive material
- Some scary or intense scenes that may upset younger children
- Limited depictions or references to drugs and alcohol.
