CM Punk’s outspoken promo on WWE Raw has continued to generate discussion, with new details emerging about the creative behind the segment.
The World Heavyweight Champion opened the April 6, 2026, episode of WWE Raw with a fiery address aimed at Roman Reigns ahead of their WrestleMania 42 clash. During the promo, CM Punk also took shots at Pat McAfee and made a pointed reference to Vince McMahon, while raising concerns over ticket pricing tied to WWE’s parent company.
The segment quickly became a major talking point among fans, with many questioning whether Punk had gone off-script. According to Fightful Select, Ben Saccoccio was listed internally as the writer for the promo, with the segment also drawing significant attention backstage.
Regardless of how much of the promo was scripted, Punk’s delivery once again underscored his reputation as one of WWE’s most compelling voices. The exchange added further intensity to his rivalry with Reigns, with Punk set to defend the World Heavyweight Championship against him at WrestleMania 42 Night 2 on April 19.
Is WWE Considering Ticket Price Changes Following CM Punk’s Raw Promo?
According to the Wrestling Observer‘s Bryan Alvarez, WWE is apparently looking to reduce its ticket prices through the summer after the company has faced backlash over how much the prices of its tickets for events have increased in the past year.
For example, WrestleMania 42’s cheapest ticket price is priced at around $854 for the two-day pass, whereas WrestleMania 41’s cheapest tickets were priced at around $545 for the same two-day pass, making that a roughly 56% price increase from last year’s event.
