WWE WrestleMania 42 could feature a historic showcase for the company’s women’s division if current internal discussions lead to reality.
According to WrestleVotes Radio via Fightful Select, WWE is considering featuring at least six women’s matches across the two nights of WrestleMania 42. While the full card has not yet been revealed, sources reportedly believe that at least five of those matches are already firmly planned as the company continues building toward its biggest event of the year.
If the plan moves forward, it would set a new record for the most women’s matches at a single WrestleMania. The current record was set at WrestleMania 36, which featured five women’s bouts, including a kickoff match between Liv Morgan and Natalya.
The potential increase reflects the depth of WWE’s current women’s roster, as well as the division’s growing reputation as one of the company’s most consistent in-ring attractions.
Currently Confirmed Women’s Matches For WrestleMania 42
Several key matches are already taking shape following the Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber pay-per-views.
On the SmackDown side, Jade Cargill is expected to defend the WWE Women’s Championship against Women’s Elimination Chamber winner Rhea Ripley.
Meanwhile, on Raw, Royal Rumble winner Liv Morgan has announced that she will challenge Stephanie Vaquer for the Women’s World Championship.
WrestleMania 42 is scheduled to take place on April 18 and April 19, 2026, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event will mark the second consecutive year WrestleMania has been held in Las Vegas, following the record-setting success of WrestleMania 41.
WWE is also planning to expand the event’s reach through a new broadcast initiative. The first hour of each night of WrestleMania is set to air live on ESPN and ESPN2, potentially providing additional exposure for what could become one of the largest women’s showcases in WrestleMania history.
