Will Ospreay is set to face Jon Moxley at AEW Dynasty, with the match confirmed following a heated exchange on Dynamite.
Will Ospreay issued the challenge during Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite, referencing their history and his desire for revenge after last year’s attack. Jon Moxley later accepted the challenge, making the bout official for next month’s Dynasty pay-per-view. As it stands, Moxley’s Continental Championship will not be on the line.
In his message, Ospreay revisited the events following AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door last August, when he was attacked by Moxley and the Death Riders after an unsanctioned cage match. The assault led to Ospreay being stretchered out and written off television as part of a storyline injury that sidelined him.
Will Ospreay Vs. Jon Moxley History
The upcoming match will mark a rare singles encounter between the two. Their only previous one-on-one meeting came at NJPW Windy City Riot in April 2022, where Moxley emerged victorious. Since then, their interactions have largely taken place in multi-man or tag team settings.
Ospreay recently returned to in-ring action on Dynamite, defeating Blake Christian in his first match back since the August attack. With his comeback now underway, he will look to settle unfinished business with Moxley at Dynasty.
