Alex Windsor has provided a positive update on the injury recovery of her fiancé, AEW star Will Ospreay.
Speaking with Metro, Windsor said Ospreay is making strong progress following the neck surgery he underwent in September. Ospreay remains sidelined heading into 2026, despite speculation last month suggesting he could return as early as January. Dave Meltzer has since clarified that Ospreay is still some distance from an in-ring comeback, with January instead expected to mark the point where he hopes to begin light weight training.
Windsor described Ospreay as “smashing” his recovery and expressed confidence that he will return at an even higher level once cleared to wrestle.
“Of course, it has been a struggle for him, but he’s doing so well,” Windsor said. “He’s absolutely smashing it. I personally think he’ll be back better than ever.”
Both Ospreay and Windsor are currently under contract with AEW. The pair became engaged earlier this year, and Ospreay is also a stepfather to Windsor’s son. Windsor noted that she is looking forward to the point when they are able to travel together again regularly once Ospreay returns to action.
How Long Has Will Ospreay Been With AEW?
Will Ospreay officially joined AEW in February 2024 after it was reported at the 2023 Full Gear that he had signed a multi-year deal with the company. This came after several years working with the promotion on a limited basis through his New Japan Pro-Wrestling commitments.
Since signing full-time, Ospreay has been positioned as a key figure on the AEW roster, regularly featured in high-profile matches and major storylines before being sidelined with his recent injury.
