Will Ospreay may have just signalled that backup is on the way, as his issues with one of AEW’s most dangerous groups continue to intensify.
Following a chaotic scene on AEW Dynamite, Will Ospreay hinted he may not be fighting alone for much longer in his ongoing rivalry with Jon Moxley and the Death Riders. Ospreay earned a hard-fought victory over Pac on the April 1, 2026, episode of Dynamite, but the win quickly turned into a vicious beatdown. The Death Riders stormed the ring after the match, overwhelming him in a post-match assault that once again highlighted their numbers advantage.
As Claudio Castagnoli prepared to target Ospreay’s neck, Moxley stepped in, not to stop the attack, but to deliver a pointed message. Standing over him, Moxley mocked Ospreay’s chances of revenge, reminding him of the reality: six of them, one of him.
Responding to a fan online who claimed he had no allies in AEW, Ospreay pushed back with a telling line:
“I got friends somewhere else, though.”
Who Could Will Ospreay Recruit To Help Him Against The Death Riders?
The comment has sparked speculation that Will Ospreay could be looking beyond AEW for support, with links to New Japan Pro-Wrestling immediately coming into focus. Ospreay is set to return to NJPW this Saturday at Sakura Genesis in Tokyo, where he will team with Great-O-Khan and Henare. The timing has only added to the belief that reinforcements could soon enter the AEW landscape.
Whether Ospreay’s message points directly to United Empire or something more unexpected remains unclear.
