Will Ospreay has discussed the possibility of making history at AEW All In London.
On August 30th, Will Ospreay will compete in London’s Wembley Stadium for the third time in his career. Unlike his matches against Chris Jericho in 2023 and MJF in 2024, this time the Aerial Assassin will challenge Kenny Omega for the AEW World Championship.
Ospreay’s place in the main event was set at Forbidden Door, where he defeated Swerve Strickland to win the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. Less than two weeks later, Ospreay’s opponent was confirmed when Kenny Omega overcame MJF to begin his second reign as the AEW World Champion.
In a new interview with Gaming Bible, Ospreay reflected on reaching the All In main event in his home country of England, saying that having the chance to be the first Englishman to win a World Championship on home soil was something he couldn’t have dreamed of when he began his career.
“Now, being the age that I’m at now, where I’ve wrestled in front of 40,000 people in the Tokyo Dome, nearly 80,000 people in Wembley Stadium, I’ve got to dip my toes into so many amazing moments in wrestling. Now I get to return to Wembley Stadium. I’m fighting for a piece of history that no one else in the world can say that they’ve done. Being the first Englishman to win a World Championship on home soil is such a huge thing that I could never even dream of.”
Will Ospreay Hopes To Inspire A New Generation Of Wrestlers
Ospreay went on to emphasize how important it was to him to be able to influence a new generation of stars to follow their own dreams.
“It’s a feeling that I struggle to put into words, of how special it feels to be in this position and fighting for that prize. I am grateful, man. I’m so grateful. To be able to influence a new generation coming through and to give hope to anyone who was ever told that they’re not going to be able to fulfil their dreams because of where they’re from.
“I wasn’t an academic kid; I just had a belief in my stomach that pro wrestling was going to pay off one day. And next month, I’ll be in Wembley Stadium fighting for the most important prize in pro wrestling. I hope I can just walk away as the first Englishman to ever do it.”
At AEW All In Texas in 2026, ‘Hangman’ Adam Page was able to overcome the odds and the Death Riders to win the AEW World Championship in his home state of Texas. With the Death Riders on Will Ospreay’s side, it remains to be seen if he will be able to achieve a similar feat on August 30th in London.
