Attorneys for Vince McMahon‘s longtime doctor, Dr Carlon Colker, have withdrawn a motion to reopen a judgment without trial motion that was ordered on August 12 as part of the ongoing Janel Grant lawsuit.
Judge David Bothwell ordered the judgment without trial on August 12, which essentially means a court ruling can be decided without the need for a full trial and can happen as either a summary judgment, which is granted when the court finds that a party’s case or defence has no prospect of being successful, or a default judgment, which is entered when a defendant fails to respond to a claim within a specified timeframe.
Colker’s attorney, Frank Silvestri, filed the motion to re-open the judgment on September 10, but withdrew the motion on October 27. Colker and his Greenwich, Connecticut-based clinic, Peak Wellness, have been accused by Grant of withholding discovery in Grant’s lawsuit against Vince McMahon, an employee of Peak Wellness is also accused of assaulting Grant. Colker is also accused of refusal to provide medical records and of refusing to inform Grant of what medications she was being treated with.
Janel Grant’s Ongoing Lawsuit Against Vince McMahon
In January 2024, Janel Grant alleged that Vince McMahon had sexually trafficked her and assaulted her at WWE HQ in Stamford, Connecticut. McMahon was removed as executive chairman of WWE’s parent company, TKO Group Holdings, and is no longer involved in any capacity with WWE as a result.
Grant alleges that McMahon abused his position of power in WWE to give her a job at the company in 2019 and continued his abuse of power to force Grant into performing numerous sex acts with himself and others. Grant is seeking monetary damages from McMahon after claiming that he had agreed to pay her $3 million in 2022 as part of an NDA, but that she only received $1 million.
