A new report suggests Will Ospreay is making strong progress toward a potential return to the ring.
According to Fightful Select, the former AEW International Champion has recently been working out in the ring ahead of AEW events, with sources saying his recovery is progressing well. The report noted that “things look very promising for him to return to form as it relates to the level he was competing at before.”
There is also hope within AEW that Will Ospreay could return sometime this spring. If his recovery continues on schedule, the company would like him to be part of this summer’s AEW All In event at Wembley Stadium.
How Did Will Ospreay Get Injured?
Will Ospreay has been sidelined since undergoing neck surgery last September to address two herniated discs. The injury occurred after he competed at the Forbidden Door pay-per-view in August, where he was later written off television.
In January, Ospreay was reportedly backstage at AEW Dynamite to undergo a medical evaluation. A vignette promoting his eventual return aired in early February, and AEW President Tony Khan later said Ospreay’s recovery was progressing “very, very well.”
The 32-year-old has not wrestled since the surgery, but appears to be moving closer to a return as AEW continues to monitor his recovery.
